Guides are quite often necro'd with new information or a new question.
And now that we have permanent editing rights for our posts, I hope the OPs use that as an opportunity to revise the first post with the new information and clarifications that appear later in the thread. -
Quote:Too bad /ignore doesn't block quoted posts from people you /ignore.Yup suck is so irrevocable that you were definitely being ripped off. You should sue.
Pay no attention to the several fixes that have been put out in the last couple patches, and the posts addressing costume issues that say more fixes are on the way. That's completely irrelevant to your point. -
Quote:No, not on the same game account. However, you can have two accounts (both of which you have to pay for) on the same master NCSoft account. So, it can't be done on the same account? Wow, that's gonna put a wrinkle in my entire thought process behind it. Plus, with the new Auto SK, I'm not sure what good I can see in it now (other than badgehunting).
Any way around this?
Auto SK does indeed shut down 'bridging' (see the SK guide link in my sig). However, there are other reasons to have two accounts (some which don't necessarily mean playing both at the same time), such as setting up and managing a solo SG base and transferring wealth among your toons.
---
I've found that Multiplicity and Synergy didn't work for me for managing my two boxes with one keyboard/mouse (lots of hanging). However, I've found that Input Director (freeware) worked well (except that the mouse controlled both toons when focused on the 'slave' machine -- I could live with it since any dual boxing play I do is of the 90/10 variety). -
If you get a Gravity Controller to propel you, you skip along the top of the water.

Quote:But if you do it again through Flashback, you can drag along lowbies (under level 20) and get them the unlock on capes. When you're in pseudo-flashback mode, everyone gets the end rewards.I've been offered it (non-flashback) on characters that already have a cape. I found this out when I went to do the Aura mission and was offered the cape mission again.
Nice update to the mission; I like it when the game keeps evolving. (Just like the leftovers in my 'fridge

I wouldn't start a fight with the Spider without a tray full of defense to make sure nothing lands on me in the initial alpha strike. And it's helpful if you're the one hovering over the Spider to take the strike so that your helpers below survive to take it down.

Quote:Yes, it did.I've used it in past to zap rikti/lost in teh capes missions.
It definatly used to work on some rikti.
And it was specifically and intentionally changed to *not* work on Rikti, it was never supposed to, but the Lost and the Rikti share the same internal faction and that was the source of the original bug allowing it to work on Rikti.
Story-wise, it only makes sense for it to work on the Lost. Mechanics-wise, allowing it to work on Rikti cause huge problems for certain other missions against the Rikti. -
Please post the results of these two programs:
- CoH Helper - it will show us basic computer settings and your CoH configuration.
- HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format > Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here.

Perma-ing the click hp increase and the regen increase... isn't that possible now?

That's why I'll zone into the shard zone that's one further away and use the zone gate to wind up on the far side of a shard zone.
-
Well you know, a team full of Vets that have the mission TP and Assemble the Team can make 8 of those missions trivially easy to travel to... excuse me, 24 of those missions easy to travel to since in three hours those powers will be up 3 times.
Not to mention all the other zone porting powers to do the city missions. And that the Shard itself has shortcuts (direct porting from the first zone to any of the other three). And shortcuts to get to the zone gates (jumping off the islands).
Or Reveal clearing the fog of war so you can see where the neighborhoods are.
Travel is not really a big issue anymore for Vets. -
Get Hover or the Jetpack from the vendor in the Shard. If you are over your oppenents, KB becomes knocking them straight down into the pavement and they don't travel far.

Quote:Since each zone has about 50 presents in it... you might want to expand your loop.I have a loop like this in Sharkhead. No, I'm not telling you where it is. It's a pattern with about 8 presents that takes just long enough to do that everything respawns by the time I get back to my start point. Earlier today I was just going about in circles for an hour or two building up candy cane supplies.

The only time it will matter is for the LRSF and the Abyss Raid. Hero ATs have special skills sets that can be leveraged for those tasks.... and will.

Quote:Best guess: Since last Test hardly got enough people to test it, this was the best way to datamine a large group of people trying it out.Seems like we are testing this on live servers.....wussup with that?
Answered above. Defeating X number of Winter Horde spawns the WL. Whether it's 300 or 500 or just minions... no one's pinned that down yet.
Unfortunately, the Winter Horde spawn at any level that the zone normally has. So, if it's a 30-40 level zone, the Horde will be in that range randomly despite your level.Quote:-Are the levels that spawn from naughty presents random? We were level 29/30 and thought Bricks was the most level appropriate zone (Talos was spawning grays), but we got anywhere from 30-38 out of the presents. Our static team is well built and could handle up to +6s, but I imagine PUGs would have some trouble. We simply could not damage the 38 boss enough to make a dent and TTPed away after a few deaths. What determines the spawn level? -
Quote:Don't think so. You can't sneak lowbies on Ouro missions if they're below the minimum level (a product of TF-mode).
But I wonder if a level 20 doing it for the first time can sneak in a level 1 to get that level 1 a cape... hmm....Quote:Just ran one of my 50s with a friends 11 on the new cape mission..... she got "capes now available at the tailor" after we completed it.
Edit: comfirmed.....my friend the 11 has the cape on.
Lowbies with friends in high places can now get capes early!
Double confirmed. By using a Base Ouro Crystal you can have a level 1 toon join the team and do the Omega Team Time Capsule mission (in the 45-50 range) and if that level 1 is in the last mission when completed, they will get their capes opened up.
However, this does not work if done outside flashback. I took a level 20 and a level 1 toon through the real-time non-flashback cape mission and the level 1 did not have capes opened up.
I'm pretty sure this is because with regular arcs, the leader gets the special at the end (Merit, Souvenir, Badge) but with flashback arcs, everyone gets rewarded the special at the end (because of the pseudo-TF mode).
Capes are now available to level 1 toons (but not at creation). -
And he wears red. How many of our villains wear red? All of them except the ones that wear black.
And he threatens children: "He knows if you've been bad or good so be good for goodness sake!" -
Stupid Ninja Run Trick:
Find a citizen walking by. Set your toon to follow it. Turn on Ninja Run.
It will look like those Saturday morning cartoon version of exaggerated tip-toeing. All we need is the toy piano 'tink tink tink' sound effect to go with it. -
Regen doesn't really have a God-Mode tier 9, it's more like an OMG-Mode power for just 15 seconds.
However, isn't there a way to perma Regen's click health/regen powers which is where Regen's real god-mode power exists? -
Quote:Dark/Dark Defender.
7. Large group survivability specialist -solo
This combo can withstand a large group attacking them the longest (offense capability not considered, assuming never ending enemy attack)
- Cone Fear.
- AoE Slow (Tar Patch).
- Boss level group stun (Howling Twilight + Dark Pit).
- AoE Immob (Tentacles).
- Multiple stacking AoE -ToHit Debuffs (2xDarkest Night + 2xTentacles [thanks, Fluffy] + Fearsome Stare + the cone attack) and multiple single target -ToHit Debuffs
- One of the best Group Heals x2 [Fluffy!]
- Team Rez (and one of the best rezzes with full Healing and End and no side effects)
- Group Phase attack (Black Hole)
- AoE KnockBack (at greater than Boss mag protection)
- A tanker-pet (Fluffy!)
This of course assumes smart play such as being able to force the foes into a shoe horn formation and good use of Break Frees. The only time I tell a team you don't need a Tanker because you have a D3 is for the STF, and even then, with the Snipe power, there is even a way for my D3 to tank Lord Recluse while the towers are being taken down.
I've often run ahead of the team to herd. Use the AoE debuff to pull two full spawns onto a Tar Patch and then stun and immobolize them and then floor their ToHit. Then the damage dealers come and finish them off. -
Can we report that to Google and get them google-smacked for manipulating their ranking?

Quote:Hmmm... think I'll make a MA mission full of Lost Sons attacking JLove....I always hear this, but if you hang around Tsoo long enough, there are skirted dudes that do Martial Arts.
I'd believe more that they clip with emotes or doing running or flying or something, because they definitely don't have issues doing flying kicks.
EDIT: Check it: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Tsoo#Lost_Son He does all three of the most extravagent MA kicks in a skirt.
As the proud owner of a Lich which has the same stretch-skirt as the Lost Sons, I'm able to make him do all the same emotes that players use in the game. And there really are less than a handful of emotes where clipping is obviously a problem (e.g., crouch). But that means it's not a problem for 98% of the emotes.
And with regard to the combat animations which may be a problem, the high flying kicks normally come and go so quickly that the super-stretch of the skirt isn't a big deal. And now that players can chose alternate non-kicking animations...
Is there really any reason left why the super-stretch skirt shouldn't be added to the game?
JLove was a hold-out against certain costume pieces he deemed unmanly for the male models (kilt, cat, and bunny tail), but we all know that decision got changed. Time for this decision to change, too. -
Quote:RV is exempted from the Winter Event as is the Shard since it's a hazard zone, and the RWZ and Cimerora since they're co-op zones. So, that's it... no other level 50 zone for a hero.along those lines, suggestions on where to look for presents for a lvl 50 character where the hordelings won't be gray? I have been hunting in the red zones of Peregrine but seldom getting even green minions.
You might be better off hunting with a level 45 or 48 toon if you want to get green or better conning Winter Horde for their Candy Cane salvage drops (and, they drop Arcane salvage, too!). Or use a lower level alt that's a good level for another zone. -
It's good to have at least one level 50 character. It unlocks the Epic Archetype and becomes the 'sugar daddy' for your other alts (alternative characters).
Here are things that can keep a level 50 occupied: paragonwiki.com/wiki/Level_50_Hero_Content
I still play my main level 50s regularly.
