FYI: The main website now says it runs to the 12th. (The GMOTD still says the 5th.)
-
Quote:The web site is part of community rep duties which is squarely in Nivienne's court (and the other community reps).Keep in mind that Niviene is a Forums Moderator/Administrator; not NCSoft's Webmaster, nor a Dev with access to the game databse. As such, the most she can do is send a suggestion to the right people. Harassing her to fix it is roughly the same as freaking out because they added a Walk power instead of fixing {insert non-animation related bug here}.
Updating the GMOTD is part of Production, to which community reps are our conduit of communication. And, BTW, the board mods *do* have access to the GMOTD.
I don't think anyone is specifically picking on Nivienne, but it's Production/Community Rep's fault that this info was only given in the forums and not the web site and GMOTD. In fact, I'm sure they'd agree they dropped the ball on this. -

All Bosses = bug.
I've not heard of an all-boss bug before, but there have been numerous reports of an all-lieutenant bug, which I myself have experienced.
Bug it and move on (by trying to complete it, reset it, or drop it). -
Quote:Every time something drops, there's a roll to see who on the team gets it. So, not only might there have been unlucky rolls for the drops themselves, but you could have been unlucky in the roll to see who gets what on the team.Ok. not sure if its just because of the Holiday event or if its actually character related (ie you've earned enough cash no more for you! XD ) .
Put together an 8 man team to run the Maria Jenkins AV arc at lvl 50. I had saved it until I was 50.
The entire event took several hours. I walked away with...
3 Invention Origin Set Recipes, Crushing impact, Exploted Weakness, Pacing of the Turtle
5 Generic Invention Origin Recpies, 2x range 1xAcc 2xDam
Not quite enough salvage to fill my slots and of course a full rack of Regular SO's.
The entire thing we had 1 purple mentioned, one from the sleep set.
That to me, seems a little lackluster. AV's were really only dropping SO's or Salvage. Now, I normally have better luck, even on regular missions. But I've noticed the pickup rate on several of my characters has really faulted, but on others its just fine. Maybe something is up, or maybe its just me, I don't know.
I did manage to collect about 15 mil in influence though
.Over all I am happy to have done it. Thankyou Justice! You never dissapoint
In order to make that case that the drop rate is bugged, you'd have to tell us what everyone else on the team got. -
Quote:I've suggested a long time ago the Lobbyist / Crooked Politician Exploration Badge located on a Casino in Bloody Bay.I think I can flag that emote to key off of multiple badges. Is there a badge villain side that would be an appropriate unlock for the dice7 emote?
How about the "Deuces Wild" exploration badge? That's easy to get...give you guys something to waggle in the face of heroes.
Spanky Rabinowitz' cousin Charlie 'Big Buck' Rabinowitz owned Big Bucks Casino. It is said much of Spanky's campaign money came from the take here.
Then you can unhook that emote from the Hess TF since it doesn't make one lick of in-game sense for that Easter Egg to be there.

Quote:In your opinion. I don't see it that way, so don't say it as if it were fact. You're missing my point I fear. I'm not necessarily in a hurry for GR itself - my concern is that the long wait between I16 and GR (which I presume will de facto be I17) is too long.
The problem's exacerbated by the incredibly long wait we've had already given the untimely and mistaken announcement of GR, so soon after the 5th anniversary. (Ironically so very soon after Positron had spoken about "Stuff I can't talk about" too)
There was a 222 day wait for Issue 7. If Going Rogue comes out in the second quarter on the anniversary of CoH (a likely target date), then it will have been a 225 day wait, just three days longer than the previous longest wait time.
If GR would happen to come out the very first day of the second quarter, it will only have been a 198 day wait. -
Could be a pop-up or pop-under that's invisible because you have an adblocker running?

All it takes for for one Scrapyarder to get killed by a drone (usually because they're chasing a player who runs to the drones or zone through the Ferry) and now that drone is enemy number one on Scrapyard's and all the Scrapyarders' list.
"The drone killed Larry, get it!"
And that's how Scrapyard redied. -
Oh, you're hunting *them*. I got my badge from attacking them in Warburg. Plenty of double bots with just one or two in their group.

Unlike the Base TP power which is interruptible by the rest of the team/raid using the Ouroboros TP power, Self Destruction is not interruptible and will get me to my base even faster than the Base TP power.

1. Do you know what this is: O16 - DPF: {BCA935CA-7E41-4F73-BA9C-FAB4393DBAC0} (MADanalCtrl Control) - http://www.csafer.net/ActiveX/MAStreamCtrl.cab
2. Update motherboard chipset/CPU drivers. -
They could always open it for a week around Jun 21 for the Southern Hemisphere's Winter Solstice.

The problem here and in other threads dealing with this is that Bases were designed to belong to a *group*, not an individual. And by 'group' I mean a group of players, not a group of one player's alts.
The group that owned the base was either a group of heroes or a group of villains, and the two don't mix. (And while there are comic book examples of opposing faction groups co-operating, that line of argument is just plain stupid since those groups never last in those very same comic stories.)
So, a group of heroes owns a base. That's what SuperGroup Bases are supposed to be. Why would anyone think that a character can leave the SuperGroup, turn villain, and still have access to the base? (Again, one-time scenarios from comic books don't apply.)
"Hey, Justice League, I've decided to leave you so I can rule the world and force everyone to do things my way since I know best, so, I'm leaving. Since I did a lot of the work on the base supercomputer, I'm going to take that with me. See ya. Hey, you're blocking the computer, ow ow ow, stop that!"
Now, since their inception, Bases have evolved so that individual players can rather easily have their own private base. This has given some the idea that their base is their own private lair, and not the property of an organization. But that's not how they're set up intrinsically.
If the Devs allow a sole-owner base to transfer their base to redside, then how can they say no to the SuperLeader of a base used by an active SuperGroup of players? And if you say to allow a base to switch sides if there's only one player in it, then that would encourage SuperLeaders to kick everyone out so they can switch over 'their' base.
Heck, one loses their base by switching servers, let alone alignments. Don't see how one can switch sides and take 'their' base with them without convoluted and unrealistic role-play rationales (this *is* a mmoRPg) and causing *a lot* of bad feelings from members of SGs who've had their bases taken away from them because their SuperLeader switched sides. -
Here are the new numbers since the Hover and Fly buff last issue:
Hover: 14.2 mph
Hover w/ 1 Fly SO: 16.6 mph
Hover w/ 1 Fly SO + Swift: 18.5 mph
Hover w/ 1Fly SO + Swift w/ 1 Fly SO: 19.2 mph
Thus Bonuses to Hover....
Fly SO in Hover = +2.4 mph to Hover
Swift = +1.9 mph to Hover
Fly SO in Swift = +0.7 mph to Hover
And thus the value of 3-slotting, taking ED into account:
3 Fly SOs in Hover = +6.8 mph
3 Fly SOs in Swift = +1.9 mph
So let's say you 3-slot Hover with Fly SOs, your Hover will be: 21.0 mph.
Add Swift and one Fly SO in the default slot of Swift, your Hover will be: 23.6 mph (that's +2.6 mph)
Two more slots in Swift will bring it up to: 24.8 (that's + 1.2 mph).
Six-slotting both Hover and Swift with Fly SOs = 26.2 mph (that's +1.4 mph over 3 slotting both)
Therefore: For increasing Hover speed, extra slots in Swift aren't worth it.
Note that Quickness in the Super Reflexes powerset offers the same bonuses as Swift and stacks with Swift.
And now, for Fly:
Fly Speed: 45.2 mph
Fly w/ 1 Fly SO in Fly = 51.7 mph
Fly w/ 1 Fly SO in Fly + Swift = 53.6 mph
Fly w/ 1 Fly SO in Fly + Swift w/ 1 Fly SO in Swift = 54.3
Thus the Bonuses to FlySpeed...
Fly SO in Fly = +6.5 mph to Flight Speed
Swift = +1.9 mph
Fly SO in Swift = +0.7 mph to Flight Speed
And thus the value of 3-slotting, taking ED into account:
3 Fly SOs in Fly = +13.4 mph
3 Fly SOs in Swift = +2.0 mph
- Just two SOs in just Fly will take you to 58.2 mph, which is just .4 mph short of the fly cap.
- Fly with one SO and Swift with one SO is 4.3 mph short of the fly cap.
- Two level 50 IOs in Fly will hit the fly cap.

Quote:Nope. You'll fill the bar up defeating 50 fire-event Hellions, but you won't know how many fires you put out.I feel your pain. My oldest character, and first 50 is still stuck on the Firefighter badge since it never updated before. Has that been fixed?
If you're in that situation, all you need do is put out fires until the badge dings. Don't worry about saving the building or 'arresting' arsonists (some hero you are!), just 'defeat' fires. -
Quote:Oops. Typo. Reverse the sonorants.Hegenomical isn't a word, I think you mean hegemonical (from hegemony)
I was responding to a proscriptive rather than prescriptive rule which is different from an allusion to the prescriptivistic v. descriptivistic grammar wars.Quote:Proscriptivisc... I think you mean prescriptivistic (from prescribing)
That would be the literal sense of the roots, however, it takes on the sense of 'writings' as in Sacred Scriptures. A prescription that a doctor writes tells you what to do. A proscription is a (written) order telling you what *not* to do.Quote:I didn't look up Zombie Man's words, but I believe "proscriptivistic" is a heavily compound word in this context. At least as I read it, it breaks up into "pro" "script" and "ivistic," making it an adjective describing a noun as being in favour of writing. -
Well, I think they'd rush for their toys!
And then! Oh, the noise!
Oh, the noise! Noise! Noise! Noise!
That's one thing I hate!
The NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE!
And they shrieks, squeaks and squeals
racing around on their wheels.
They dance with jang-jinglers
tied up to their bells
They blow their floo-flounders,
they bang their tong-tinklers.
They blow their who-hoovers
they bang their jang-tinglers.
They beat their tram-tookers
they slide their sloo-slunckers.
They beat their flam-fluckers
they whack their who-wonkers.
They play noisy games like Zuziv Ka Zev
a Roller skates tapler "La Crosse"
And then they make
year's pretty noises the lux
on their great big electro-who-cardio-flux.
Then the Whos, young and old,
would sit down to a feast.
And they'd feast!
And they'd feast!
And they'd FEAST!
FEAST! FEAST! FEAST!
They would start on Who-pudding,
and rare Who-roast-beast
Roast-beast is a feast
I can't stand in the least!
And THEN
They'd do something
I hate most of all!
Every Who down in Who-ville,
the tall and the small,
Would stand close together,
with Christmas bells ringing.
They'd stand hand-in-hand.
And the Whos would start singing!
/Fah who foraze, dah who doraze
/Welcome, Christmas, come this way
/Fah who foraze, dah who doraze
/Welcome, Christmas, Christmas Day
/Welcome, welcome, fah who rahmus
/Welcome, welcome, dah who dahmus
/Christmas Day is in our grasp
/So long as we have hands to clasp
/Fah who foraze, dah who doraze
They'd sing!
And they'd sing!
AND they'd SING!
SING! SING! SING!
So... that's what they were doing. -

Quote:No, the problem is that counting the age of humans starts at 0. You're not 1 year old until you're older than 1 year old. So, when it comes to counting things by years, people are much more used to counting 0 as the first unit.So then Year 50 would be in the 0th Century? But that was always a problem only the computer and scientific community start at 0.
Meanwhile, calendar-wise, day one of 1AD was already year one.
So, there's two common counting systems at work and people can get them confused, although, we (reasonable people who know rudimentary math) have one the battle by getting people to call centuries by their correct number. Even though we're in the 2000s, people know we've already started the 21st century.
Now if we can only win the decade battle... -
