Quote:Don't forget that as a drop in the wild, Pool A and Pool B are not weighted. Here I was thinking you were going to say for the dmg/end piece not the acc/dmg.
In bronze rolls I usually end up with a pile of the acc/dmg's and a few dmg/ends. Unfortunately over the about 100k tickets haven't seen any Dmg/Ends just a pile of KB procs.
(Of course I needed 4 for a build, so now that I have them slotted I"m sure I'll start rolling them again)
As Ticket Rolls, Bronze rolls (Pool A) are weighted. And Silver Rolls contain all of B and the Rares of A, and are weighted.
Pool C+D is weighted as a drop in the wild (from Bosses) and at the Ticket Vendor (Gold Roll) and at the Merit Vendor (Rare Roll).

/reloadgfx and /unloadgfx are currently doing next to nothing. They are not purging the memory cache like they used to.
In fact, zoning clears the cache, although, not completely, there still is a memory leak that will keep building until your system can't handle it.
Forget /unloadgfx. If your rig is crashing every hour, then exit the game completely every 45 minutes and log back in. That should stop the crashes for now as a workaround. At least, it will be a controlled crash. -
Praetorian Mirror Spirit!
1. She can match you 'blow for blow' because either she reflects your attacks back at yourself (like Confuse, but you can only attack yourself), or, she summons a mirror image of you as a pet that has your powers.
2. The new foe will appear in the revamped Posi TF which ends up in the dam in Faultline... where Primal Mirror Spirit is!
3. The new foe will appear in level 20-30 missions, and Primal Mirror Spirit is in a level 15-25 zone! -

Oh, that's completely different.
I agree, but, remember, it took 3 years to get stores in that zone!
In the meantime, I recommend Oportal to IP and back to Striga via gate there as the fastest way to get to a difficulty analyst rather than use Talos. -
Well, to be fair to Avatea, Nivienne's first postings lately have been just way too hard without any chance to get it on the first pic. I thought this was a just-right first posting. Relatively easy but not too easy.

Quote:May I introduce you to Ravenstorm? Please consider adding a Field Trainer to Striga Isle. The nearest one is in Talos, and he's a bit of a jaunt from the Ferry.
Thanks.

I hope the MM's attack from Demon Summoning is Fire Blast and not Whip Attack. If it's Whip Attack, well, then we're going to have the same problem with Thug MMs where MMs take the attacks simply because of the uniqueness of the attack. We'll wind up with tons of Whip Petless MMs.
I don't want to have to choose between a cool Whip Attack or a Pet on a MM; nor have to choose between Whip Attack or a Secondary power. -
Both coh.com and cityofheroes.com work for me. Don't know what to tell you.
Ask the IT guys to hit the site from their computers and see it's a local network problem or just your computer. -
Quote:Prediction:
Within one month of I-17, a player will post:
{{I'm angry! I want my money back! I sent X Million Inf to my alt ".SuperName" and it went to some complete stranger named "SuperName"! He won't respond to my tells or Emails demanding it back. I should get it back and he probably doesn't even play anymore and should get banned and I should get the name, too! <rest of angry rant>!}}
Predicted Response:
"If the Lottery is a tax on people who can't do math, this is a tax on people who can't spell thier own character's names."
And I shall laugh.
Zombee Man has all my inf!!! -
Quote:Considering this in I17:OK, War Witch, sorry to do this, but this one's a hard ball...
Now that the Mission Architect interface is in place, we players see how atrociously difficult it used to be to write arcs, but how relatively easy it is now that we have the MA.
When we asked for the legacy Task Forces to be updated (and devs and players agree which ones are sorely lacking), the old response was "it would be too much time taken away from writing new content." And we see that was true.... but not any more.
With the MA tool, we see how relatively easy it would be to tweak existing TFs to make the long ones shorter and the 'speed TFs' longer (e.g., with Katie Hannon we can add ambushes to the save the hostage or create a custom Katie who doesn't fly in the last mission). Or to change Viridian's arc into a Strike Force to give villains parity.
So, with the MA now in place, why can't this be done? Especially with Dr. Aeon being such an expert on arc mechanics?
(And know this...

I've always supported your policies, My Lady.)Positron Task Force Update: This Task Force has been split into two halves and dramatically upgraded and updated to ramp up the fun. The final battle of the Task Force takes place in the Faultline Dam and incorporates the new Dark Mirror enemy.
I guess my question is answered.

But you're welcome to comment if this is a trend.... -
Assuming you're seriously asking instead of cheekily highlighting, it's a pun. This thread should be put out of its misery and an official discussion thread that is moderated should take its place.

Quote:Because Obsidious and UnSub didn't dismiss the new content of the revised Posi TF and dismiss the new content villainside and then complain there's so little content. Nor did they make up a claim that we're supposed to have new Issues every 3 months. Nor do they have a history of doing such things over and over and over again.Obsidious, UnSub and Perfect_Pain all said that they didn't care much for the announced features. But some people singled out Perfect_Pain for personal attacks.
That's why. PP has participated in plenty of threads where there's been no attacks. The attack here is because of the loose-with-the-facts-and-reality nature of her posts, not because she has an opinion. I agree the debate should stick to the content of her posts and not the person, but it's hard to do when the person does the same thing over and over again. It's a self-poisoned well. -

Quote:If this dark mirror is a doppleganger that copies my every move, you bet I'm using Self Destruct because the second the doppleganger uses his, even if he has a rez, the mission completes! It sounds like the Dark Mirror will use tech like the custom AE critters to create an enemy who duplicates your powers. If that includes veteran and booster pack powers, but not inspirations (and i'm guessing those would remain player only), and your "dark mirror" duplicates your every move... Self Destruction->Wakie->laugh maniacally.

Quote:Not only the clue "match you", but the horrendously misused* scripture quote "I shall see face to face", and the title of the Issue, "Dark Mirror." This is more than an archnemesis, it's a version of you (shape shifter or Praetorian) -- which is just a guess, but a reasonable one. I'm sure it follows the standard clone law of comics which states that when you meet your clone you must battle to the death.didn't read all responses, so this may have been pointed out, but.....
issue called "dark mirror", reference to enemy that "can match you blow for blow"....
this sounds an awful lot like an arch nemesis feature... just sayin'
*Not complaining, it's a staple of the genre. The original intent of St. Paul in that quote is seeing God face to face. And seeing through glass darkly is our limited perception of God from our earthly and human perspective. And knowing fully as I am known means coming into the fullness of perfect perspective of God when we get to heaven just as God fully knows us now. But don't let any of that ruing the mystique of the quote
.
I have very high hopes for the new Posi TF with Dr. Aeon on board.Quote:I might've missed it but I didn't see one "OMGDUMBINGDOWNCOX" comment regarding Positron's redesign or Silver Mantis not needing the computer.

Quote:Ummm... no. That's not poisoning the well. Poisoning the well would be pointing out that PP goes through these cycles of manic love and depressing ennui concerning CoH (and CO) and thus her current point isn't worth considering. That's not what Nethergoat did.Logical fallacy: poisoning the well. Attacking the debater instead of debating.
And to get this out of the way: how odd is it that I find myself defending P_P in this thread when I personally have done the above and more in different threads? Does this make me a hypocrite? Absolutely. Just thought I'd get that out there to disarm anyone.
What Nethergoat did was to call into question a label she applied to I17, i.e., 'light in content'. She does indeed call it light. And he points out the source of her calling it 'light': that she dismisses parts of I17 she isn't interested in and has a narrow definition of 'content.' Which is the case, proved above in the thread. There is no logical fallacy here except on the part of PP.
(BTW, I've defended PP before in the Guides forum.
)
She has a right to her opinion that the issue is 'light' and therefore disappointing to her. But when challenged on the lightness of the issue, her supporting arguments are full of phail. -
I'm willing to bet that when you see the new Posi and it's PartII, you're going to be screaming to the Devs, "Wish the old Posi to the cornfield, now!"

Quote:Actually, the original design intent of TFs was that they were supposed to be a multi-session affair done by friends or supergroup mates over the course of several play sessions. That's why Posi and the shard TFs are so long.It was my first time, and I thought it was meant to be rough. Took me a long time to realize that Task Forces are intended to be 1-2 hours with a tight-knit group of friends.

With the introduction of Croatoa, that design philosophy fell by the wayside and all the CoV SFs were much shorter (and villains complain about not having hefty SFs that can give big Merit awards).
Players have figured out how to do the legacy TFs in a relatively short time (one play session) by means of stealthing and only doing the minimum required for each mission. Doing it exemplared with your +5 powers and having SSK bring everyone up to the level cap of the TF has also helped tremendously in speeding up the legacy TFs (in which multiple team wipes were the norm!). -
Quote:any details as to what this neighborhood accolade is all about?
You can learn new Accolades for finding all of the exploration badges in each city zone.
Don't know where "neighborhood accolades" is coming from. Of course, I don't know how you can "learn" an accolade either (probably meant 'earn').
Let's just chalk this up to an unclear press release and wait for more info. -
Quote:Neat-O.Animated tails are not capes. They're nearly identical to how we do wings, but a much simpler rig. (Not too much more expensive than a bow when you really get down to it.)
They've also been put on their own costume node and will now show up under "Lower Body". Which will mean you can do a Belt and a Tail (animated or static) on the same character. Unfortunately, that means the tails under the belt category are being flagged as legacy. So if you want to keep your current, non-animated tail, you'll still need to go in and select that costume part from the lower body the next time you edit your costume at the tailor.
Tell us more about the nodes! Did your coders add one to the underlying rig? Move one? Use up the last one? What does this bode for back-items? -
Did you level all the way up with this Iron Man?
I got up to level 27 with a Necro/TA petless MM without the use of Vet Powers nor IOs (and totally solo, so, I don't want to hear about how what I did affected anyone's super efficient team). I certainly couldn't take on a x3 spawn and often had to wait to outlevel an EB in order to defeat it, but, it was done... then I got bored. -
The Carnie Map was one of the ones pulled from Closed Beta. It had the same problem that almost all the unique maps had: It was set up with hard-coded unique placement of spawns and thus didn't work with the AE's front-middle-back scheme.
We can only hope Dr. Aeon made it AE compatible.
