Quote:And you may still. But i17 includes Demon Summoning, a part of GR. Therefore, I should have access to CB
Even with the Loyalty Program which guarantees you access to Closed Beta, that doesn't mean *ALL* of Closed Beta. As the Loyalty Program announcement was very specific in pointing out, Close Beta access happens in waves. No one is guaranteed entrance to any Closed Beta from day one.
If you get into Closed Beta before it becomes Open Beta, then you got in. Doesn't mean you get in right now. -
Quote:There was no mention of Loyalty status with regard to an I17 Closed Beta. It was mentioned explicitly for Dual Pistols CB and GR CB, but not I17.It really is 879 MB O.O
Can someone PLEASE tell me if the i17 beta forums are up or not? I thought I'd be in it because of Loyalty.
Check under the top level of the forum or under the English level. If you don't see Closed Beta Forums and if you haven't received a email invitation, then you're not in Closed Beta.
And if we're not in Closed Beta, we should stop trying to download the patch tonight so that those who are in CB can. -
Quote:Don't just check the English section, check the top level section for new forums.'As far as I know' is the part that worries me too. I guess at this point I should stop being an excited little kid, stop refreshing the forums and go back to my actual job.
Also, it's possible that this Closed Beta will be a traditional one and start with a much smaller wave of Testers. -
Quote:Hate to break this to you, but that file contains the stuff for Female AND Huge models, not Huge Female models. It's been that way forever. While I was patching the client for the test server, and it started fixing the files, I saw among them "playerFemHuge.pigg." Looking in the piggs folder in both my City of Heroes directory and my CohTest directory revealed this file to be present in both places.
I don't recall hearing anything yet about female hugies. Has this been noticed before?
EDIT: Arg! Scooped! -

Jack was very communicative with the player base... but not in a good way.

Green arrows are the dam entrances. Red arrows the tunnels. Go to the tunnels. Might want to pick up the map overlay from Vidiotmaps.com.

The programmers have patched the underlying Cryptic engine so hard, that what we're playing now can be considered CoH2.

Quote:And I thought I was the only one who did that to find the secret item available but not on display. It's working for me in the EU - Perhaps the US one is still closed?
The CSS is broken in the store now for some reason. Rest of the NC site is fine.
Still hammering the next few available product IDs waiting for it to appear...

Weird artifacts like that can be a one-time glitch with your computer or graphics card or a failure to synch with the game. In such cases, a reboot solves it.
It could also mean an outdated graphics driver or a sign of overheating. Check the temp of your machine. -

Quote:Hmmm... maybe the magical manhole is an NPC then, mechanics-wise.But yes, it was one of the oddities I noticed at the time. I was significantly MORE shocked when, during some zone event or another (zombie apocalypse possibly), the disk was NOT in it's accustomed position - just blank asphalt. It faded back in when the event ended
But yes, it's been there from the beginning. -
Quote:Section titles can say 'For Fun', but it's not strictly 'for fun' it's for a prize, albeit a small one in the grand scheme of things. That seems a bit angsty over a Forum Game in the For Fun! section? Although I do not frequent here, so maybe that is normal in these parts?
The legalese and prohibitions against people from certain geographic regions are there for a reason. When you ran a contest for a prize, it's serious business from the government's point of view.
I won last week's, though maybe I wasn't supposed to because I pointed out duplicates. So, I have no horse in this race anymore.
Last week's had 11 valid answers (instead of 10) and 4 were duplicated. If anyone had a problem with it, Avatea cut off public discussion by asking people to PM her.
The week before was a complete disaster with only 7 correct answers. And Avatea didn't bother showing were the correct answers were (because they weren't in the puzzle at all).
And the supposition that Avatea's been having problems with this puzzle for weeks and Niv didn't know about it is in itself problematic on many levels.
For the first few weeks many of us offered friendly advice to fix this contest and it only gets worse. Avatea acknowledged it might have to be scrapped in favor of a different contest.
It just can't continue the way it is, which is *not* 'for fun.'
I haven't made any complaints at all about the other two weekly contests because there's no problems with them. -
Quote:Everyone did well trying to find the answers however, there was not a winner this week..

8) If all required words haven't been found by the end of the contest, a fail safe has been put into place in order to select a winner. The first person who has managed to find the most words this week will be declared the winner of this game. In order to facilitate the selection process, no edits will be allowed after you've posted your participation.
This is one of the worst run games. Ever. You think with all the legalese about participation and compliance with state and national laws there'd be a little more caution with running this a little more carefully.
What makes this the worst Word Search Ever?
1. Use of tiny words. Great way to create false positives. Tiny words don't make it hard, it makes it annoying.
2. Use of incomplete phrases. If you're going to include DOC because it's part of AUTO DOC, then guess what, you're going to have to count every THE, OF, BY, etc... found in any phrase that meets the category of the week. And besides, it's *not* DOC, it's AUTO DOC. Using a partial phrase is just dumb. Just put AUTODOC into the word generator so that this Word Search follows the rules of every single legitimate Word Search in existence. In a Word Search that has countries of the world, you will *not* find STATES and REPUBLIC by themselves as valid answers.
3. Failure to edit. Yeah, that's time consuming. If you don't have the time to check for false positives and duplicates, then don't run it. If you don't have the time to give us the list of right words and create your own finished solution with the correct words circled to show us that the right answers exist, then don't run it.
4. Unclear rules and rules changing every week to make up for a badly designed puzzle. So, you want just the 10 correct words listed and the 10 words circled. But what if it appears twice and we didn't circle the 'correct' duplicate. If we make a notation that it's a duplicate, BAM, you fail. If we find a tiny word which should be correct but may be a false positive and we make a note showing it's correct, BAM, you fail. We're trying to prevent arguments after a winner is selected, but helpful notes are somehow confusing to the judge.
Time to find a new game for Mondays, please. Or, let TonyV help you as he keeps offering. -

P.S. You didn't mention AC. If CoH ended I would totally go back to AC. Well, after a while of not playing any MMORPG. -
Not enough.

Not to mentions the Devs assiduously avoid using the word "Christmas."
Twelves Days of Winter? My, what short seasons you have round here.
Even Valentines Event is now "Spring Fling."
Won't be long before Halloween Event becomes "Autumn Horror!" -

Quote:This is why Team Teleport is a good choice with melee pets. TT keeps them close to you for BodyGuard mode, for the MM's nearness buff of Supremacy, puts them into battle, and keeps them within range of your AoE heals. Just commit yourself to turning all your inspirations into break frees (set up a macro for that) and you're golden.
Ninjas are definitely harder to control than the others MM sets imo. You will need a goto macro to place them in melee range to get the most damage out of them. Otherwise, they'll shuriken and poison dart enemies to death. -

1. You're starting to get low on space on your C: drive. Time to do some cleaning and defragging if you haven't done that recently.
2. Try windowed mode and see if the problem persists.
