seriously what is with some people taking this so seriously.
The game was old and had a good run. Some people need a reality check that protesting like angry citizens will not accomplish anything. MMOs getting shut down now a days is just the nature of the beast and to be honest hearing about this game getting closed was not surprising in the least. |
It's obvious that we have to collect up all the money in the world and then buy NCSoft for ourselves, so we can dismantle it and then make CoH run forever! Muhahaha...
Yes, this game is old, but so is WoW and I haven't heard anything about Blizzard trashing them.

"I want you to be nice. Ask him to walk. Be nice. If he won't walk, walk him. But be nice. If you can't walk him, one of the others will help you, and you'll both be nice. I want you to remember that it's a job. It's nothing personal. I want you to be nice... until it's time to not be nice."

Then you don't follow the news. Activision has been trying to divest themselves of WoW since late June: http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/09/...-consideration

How about ERECTING a giant paper mache Statesman mask right outside NCSoft's NA offices, covered with 20,000 SIGNATURES?

Now that we have some media contacts listening, how about organizing A GIGANTIC SIMULTANEOUS FLASH MOB ACROSS ALL OF NCSOFT'S GAMES? How about contacting real-world flash mob organizers to GET A CROWD TO SHOW UP COSPLAY STYLE OUTSIDE NCSOFT'S NA OFFICES? How about ERECTING a giant paper mache Statesman mask right outside NCSoft's NA offices, covered with 20,000 SIGNATURES?

Message to Thugs, you have played the game for a couple of months so you have no real feeling for the community or the game, possibly you a a free player as well. What you do not understand that when some one plays this game for up to 8 years they get attached to their characters.
This game has a very strong community and they do not want to see what they have developed over the years in the way of bases and characters thrown away. Now I know that you will not be able to understand this as a person, going from the date of your joining the forums who has only just started to play the game so you have not developed any feeling for the game,I think WoW may be just the game for you a community that is not worth **** would suit you to a tee.
Apparently TonyV now agrees it's time for more direct action:

...Yeah, and that's supposed to be the tip of your pitchfork? The light on your torch? Puh-lease.
I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I am trying to be a bitter pill. A pill that I want you to swallow. A pill that will make you want to take all of your sick-and-tiredness and put it someplace where NCSoft will see it more clearly. |
That's not what it says. ARRRGG!, people can't read business speak.

Vivendi owns a 61% stake in Activision Blizzard, which it acquired in 2008. Activision Blizzards value is currently estimated at $13.4 billion, making Vivendis stake worth approximately $8 billion. Due to Vivendis current debt, its been considering a sale since early June, but was later said to be finding little enthusiasm from buyers including Microsoft, Disney, Tencent and Nexon due to the massive amount of cash required to make the purchase. |
I happen to live but an hour's train journey from their Brighton office. I doubt anyone works at the weekend though.

There's been some discussion of a charity-event protest in Seattle. We'd need to hook up with a local charity organization for some kind of drive or -thon or clean-up. Ideally we could also connect with the Rain City Superheroes for this.
Fundraising for a kit (tshirts, necessary supplies, cards for media, food for volunteers) likely won't be a problem. We need people in the area willing to coordinate this, though.
What business speak?
That shouldn't take an economics degree to parse. |
