A couple of incarnate questions.

Ok so with the new solo incarnate material coming up I actually have a chance to get more than just T2 alpha, so I'm looking around at a couple options for the characters I want to start out with in this content.

Thugs/time MM. Intuition Radial seems like it's pretty much a no brainer choice here. Everything it boosts will be useful. Reactive interface also seems like the most obvious choice. Lots of attacks, lots of aoe, solo so no worries about team stacking. With the kind of toolbox that /time has I just don't think I need any support from Lore, so this would primarily be a concern of getting more damage for hard targets. As I understand it Cims and Warworks are the best choices here, I think I heard something about Storm Elementals too, but not sure. For judgement, with a lot of slows and pets dragging mobs everywhere a cone could be hard to make good use of. My first thought was Ionic just because I kind of like jumping damage. Ion chance to hold or Pyronic disorient are probably my first choices, Void doesn't look bad but the radial second effect doesnt appeal to me much. The Core of all 3 for extra damage could be a good choice too. Destiny... I'm really not sure on. The wiki doesn't seem to have the recasts so I'm not sure the uptime on these and what I should really be shooting for.

The other character I'm looking at is a TW/EA scrapper. I think that the recharge is more valuable to me than musculature, but the secondary effects in Spiritual are just useless for this build. I was looking at Agility on this one, probably Radial. The other slots are mostly just going to be used for extra damage, Reactive, DPS lore pets, Rebirth perhaps, that sort of thing.

Bottom line is, as a strictly solo player I've never had much reason to do research beyond T2 alpha and I'm just not perfectly clear on things and it is very possible there is plenty I've missed. Any feedback on these would be greatly appreciated.

While it's true that Cimerorans and Warworks have higher damage output than the other choices, it's pretty much all they do. That's fine for the frothy-mouthed min/maxers who seize when the orange numbers aren't big and numerous enough, but the sun doesn't rise and set on DPS. Consider the secondary effects of the other Lore options, as you just might come across something that could work really well.

Thugs in general is already pretty DPS-y, and Time has particular benefits with Regeneration debuffs. You could go for Robotic Drones in that case, which is more high damage to play with, along with yet more -Regen that should take out the tougher targets much more easily. Even on my Soldier I was able to beat away Lady Winter's HP (as an arch-villain) thanks to Robotic Drones, at least up until the point where she one-shotted me...

The Arsonist likes to scatter things, so any sphere-based attacks will be less effective. Ion makes the most sense.

Typical Destiny recharge is 120s. Thugs/Time is a wonderful combination for both damage and protection, so you might not get much benefit out of Barrier. You might consider Rebirth for the strong heals, since Ageless's +Recharge doesn't work on pets.

I can't give any insightful advice here because I don't know if you're talking about Energy Aura or Electric Armor. There's a reason you won't see me using acronyms for power sets. (-:

Well first off you absolutely want to get your alpha to t3 because it gives you a level shift making you 50+1. Destiny and Lore at t3 will also give you level shifts for incarnate content only.

Here is a link to the dps of lore pets: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...7&postcount=26

Choice on Judgment is honestly very trivial. Pick whichever looks best to you or whatever works for your playstyle or concept. The only judgment I would stay away from is cryonic, which doesn't have alot going for it.

Destiny buffs fade. They start out extremely powerful (typically hitting the hardcap) and then fade as time progresses. For example, t4 Barrier Core starts out as as a 90% damage resistance buff and 90% defense buff for the first 10 seconds, but then quickly drops off from there. Most of the time you will only be getting 7.5% defense and resistance from barrier, and then the last minute of it you will only be getting 5% defense and damage resists.

All Destiny Powers recharge in 2 minutes and are unaffected by recharge. All t1 destiny last 60 seconds and all t4 destiny last 2 minutes (perma). Some t3 destiny powers will last 2 minutes also, like certain clarions.

For interface, I do like Reactive. Lots of pets shooting lots of cones means lots of procs and extra damage.

Intuition: Hold duration? Do you have a hold? Just curious. For my Bots/FF I went Nerve for the Defense, but that's a fairly obvious choice for a bubbler. Don't overlook Musculature just for moar damage.

Also consider Rebirth (Destiny) to give your self yet another big AoE heal. Could be very useful with pets (Though I haven't tested it myself.) I went Clarion myself, again for the Def boost, and the Protection and Power Boost effect is useful for the pets and myself.

No opinion on Judgement or Lore. I'm experimenting a little with Cryonic for the hold proc, but no real data yet.

Thanks Guy and Shinobi, that's the kind of feedback I was after. EA is Energy Armor, I've always seen electric done as ElA so I didn't think about it.

Yep, Time has both a direct hold and a GTAoE slow that procs a hold. On top of that, it has slows, Defense debuff, and to hit debuff while the pets take advantage of the damage boost and range is always handy. Nerve doesn't seem like a worthwhile choice to me since my pets are already at 59% defense and my own is in the 40%s ranged/aoe with 50%+ S/L to cover most melee and I still have some slotting to take care of to round those out a bit more.

Getting all the Incarnate powers to Tier 3 will make a sharp difference in their performance and yours. The level shifts are really important. Having a power at T4 to almost Perma its effect (casting time means a 2-3 second drop) with something like Clarion is really nice to have.

With Alpha, the Much larger ED ignoring portion of your T3 and even better T4 Alpha can be really noticable. Alpha buff and level shift is also supposed to pass through to your Lore pets. i don't know about your MM pets, but if your Alpha does buff them too, then the Alphas with a defense buff like Nerve and Agility might be highly useful. I am a big fan of the Agility.

You might want to consider the flexibility of the T4 Lore buff + Boss pets. In a lot of fights the Lt class DPS pet will drop very fast. The Boss will last a lot longer. The Boss pet in the radial does expire somewhat more quickly, after 3 min and some seconds, but the power recharges in 10 min instead of 15.

I think you may want to have more than 1 of some slot abilities. I do that on some alts. Example - my Stone tank has a T4 Core Musclature to help with the Granite damage penalty for certian content, and an Agility Radial T4 to max defense, help with the Recharge penalty, boost movement speed and bolster endurance, for content where I want maximum tankiness.
