NCLauncher Problems (MAC)

Having a hell of a time with the NCLauncher.

When I first installed it I got the following message:

Quote:
The NCLauncher was unable to reach the web address "launcher.ncsoft.com." This could cause unexpected issues to occur with NCLauncher. If this problem persists, please contact NCsoft Customer Support for assistance.
The only option is to click "OK". After that another box opens up and says:

Quote:
NCLauncher Update! An update for the NCLauncher is available. Would you like to download and apply this update?
If I choose yes, it brings up the above warning again. The only option is to click "OK". Then it brings up the warning again, and again the only option is to click "OK". Another box pops up and says:

Quote:
NCLauncher Patched! The NCLauncher has successfully patched itself!
The only option is to click "OK", and when you do it the update message is there again, and the loop continues until you give up and click no.

Once you click "NO", the normal loader screen appears and the game is able to launch as normal, but some things are still not working properly such as:
  1. It won't remember my username at the login screen even with the box clicked.
  2. When the game loads it reverts back to the default settings (screen resolution, audio settings, game controls).
  3. All the maps revert back to blacked out (untravelled).
It's really annoying and I can't figure out how to fix it. Any/all help would be greatly appreciated.

First, if you have permission to, you should also post in the Mac forum below.

Second, while I haven't had your specific problem, your problems #1 and #2 sound to me like the game isn't able to write your preferences to the local disk. Maybe you should look at the permissions on the various prefs files? I think that would be in ~/Library/Preferences/City of Heroes Preferences. If I'm wrong, hopefully someone will correct me. Not sure exactly which of the many files in there it would be. You could just trash the whole folder and let CoH recreate it. Since it's not saving your settings anyway, not much would be lost.

#3, on the other hand, I believe is stored server-side. A version of that issue has been floating around for everyone, so I'm not sure it's a problem you need to worry about.
