If you do not have access to the invention system (via license, paragon rewards, or VIP), you will not get salvage or recipe drops.

Yes, I read in the wiki you needed the licence to *use* salvage, but it didn't seem to say anything about it not dropping for you if you didn't have it. Is that a recent change? Is it mentioned in the patch notes anywhere?
If it is mentioned somewhere then I can just buy her an invention licence but it is not knowing for sure either way that is frustrating her to the point of considering not playing.
If Invention Salvage was dropping for her then it was a bug. Invention Salvage isn't supposed to drop without an invention license, being tier 7, or being VIP. There was a bug recently where sometimes you could get two Invention Salvage drops from a single kill. This is probably what was giving her the salvage drops.

Pity. Ah well, so it goes :-).
Possibly I am suffering from customer blindness, but I haven't been able to find anything about this in the patch notes.
Have they patched out the dropping of salvage for premium players or just premium players that don't have an invention licence or something?
The reason I ask is that I have a VIP account and my GF has a Premium account and for the last two levels now no salvage has dropped for her at all. We are both in our upper-20s and salvage was dropping fine for both of us until fairly recently and then it completely stopped for her, but not for me. The drop rate for enhancements seems to have gone way down for her too, but that could just be an impression rather than fact. Doesn't feel like it though.
