Mission Architect: Mission placement

Is it possible to allow us to place our Mission Architect missions in certain zones?

For instance...you could set the mission to be in Kings Row...and then the mission setpoint would be a random place in Kings Row?

Nope, all the missions are only available through the green tube of light. This is a virtual reality program we are using, after all.

Now, what you can do is make the mission maps themselves use those maps, but that's the closest you can get.

Assuming you could make instances on the fly based around zones with a field of selection, we'd also need the ability to set our own spawn points for objects to make it work, as maps are generally pre-set with their own spawn points and giving players the power to set their own points could lead to another round of exploits (then again, AE's an exploit magnet, I think it's annoying to limit ourselves because of bad eggs)

Would be fantastic to do that though, some far away sections of rarely populated zones could feel like completely new maps to some people

What I'm asking is...is it possible with the tech used for CoH to eventually implement something like that?

So that it seems as if it's an actual mission instead of the virtual reality program.

It would be an interesting option, to be sure. I can't answer as to whether or not it would be possible, I'll leave that others to answer. It seems like it would be very difficult to implement.

A feature (or features) of this nature will require new tech. The ability to select and highlight boundaries on existing city and hazard zone maps and then the ability to set your own spawn points for the mission in question.

The devs haven't a good track record for polishing the old shinies of the past, but with this new model bringing in revenue, they could possibly add this functionality if AE got a update-sweep in a future issue release.

I'm still hoping they'll update the day jobs with more reasonable day-job bonuses!
