Should you convert Merits to Hero Merits? Or Random Recipe Rolls?

I am looking for the best route to Purples and PVP Recipes. I am aware you can buy them via Hero or Villain Merits. However, you can also buy them off the Market for a high price. My question is, is it better to convert merits to Hero merits then buy the recipes that way or is it better to do Random Recipe Rolls and sell those recipes to make Influence to simply buy the recipes off the market?

I believe the best way is to convert to HVMs, and then roll for the guaranteed high sells* (like LotG +Recharge and others), and then sell those on the market, using the inf you gather to then buy whatever you're wanting (the HVM price for purples/pvp IOs are incredibly high!).


* There was a thread about the random rolls, I think that might work out to being more profitable in the long run... can't recall exactly off the top of my head.

it depends on the price your willing to spend

IMO it takes WAY too long to earn them through alignment merits or emp merits and you can make money faster through miracle uniques or LOTG +rech (which are only 2 alignment merits and sell for like 200ish mil crafted)
