Premium players will retain their SG memberships and base access.
There has been no word on if the red star leadership will change.
Oddly, according to the side by side comparison on the official site, Premium players will not have access to global chat (which apparently includes SG & coalie chat). No word on whether this will change.

Free players access: Local, Team
Premium players access: Local, Team, Whispers (Tells), SG Chat, Coalition Chat
VIP players access: All game channels, and can create them (<-- the second part means Global Chat Channels)
It doesn't say that all players can access the Help channel, regardless of tier. (This was confirmed by, I think, Zwill or Bea in one of the announcement/clarification threads.)

The bit in yellow has been added since I looked at it when it first came out. I had specifically asked about it in one of the early dev threads and never saw an answer.

I think there's something a lot of people miss when they talk about what it is Free-to-Play people get. Free to Play people have a lot of limitations of what they get for free... but they also can spend money to get other things... I don't think it's been published what they can buy or how that price structure would be broke out, but I assume they can pay for things that VIP people get.
I mean, they're not just letting people play for free out of the kindness of their heart... The buisness model still makes money by selling something.

ok so i bought the going rogue complete collection about 5 days ago..
im wondering if i set up a base(as a paying member) but once the games gos f2p im prob not gonna pay to be vip..
so as a f2p player (or should i say premium player) will i lose my base?
also would i lose my SG as well? i hope not i will be pissed if i lose all that time n energy i put into it..
