Well, since they just recently changed the names of a bunch of accounts, yes it IS possible. But it's not made available to users.
If you open a support ticket through the Support Site, you MAY be able to get it changed. I don't honestly expect them to, but it never hurts to ask.

Yeah, I don't really have a legitimate reason for changing it other than aesthetics, so I'll let it go.

I'm not even sure that they, technically, changed any account names like would be needed for mousedroid. From the sound of what was done, they mouse likely copied over the entries from the EU account database, appending EU_ in front of any name that had the system yell about duplicates.

Someone can go in and change ANYTHING in the account. Their level of access may not be high enough, but if it is stored in a database, it is changeable.
Disregarding level of access required, it's a matter of "want to". After all, someone petitioned having an extraneous Incarnate power and the GM removed it for them, which isn't something I would have said the GMs would do.

I'm not surprised that they can mess with the characters incarnate powers, however.

Is there a way to change the name of your account? Not your in-game global, but the actual account name you log in with?
If it makes any difference, this is the second account under my master account.
