EU Server Merge Questions
1. No idea.
2. No. The account structure will still be separate; you'll just be able to access the other servers.

I don't understand this. We've had all of this talk about if EU_accountX vs Na_accountx names are the same then x. How technically will this work then?

Initially, I thought it was like this:
-EU servers come/move under the NA domain...this is how we will use only 1 client, right? The EU client goes away.
-EU server accounts can move to other servers, right? or will they just be able to create new accounts/characters on different servers?
- The NA client will add global payment options(USD, UK GBP and EU EUROS)?
I just find it hard to believe that NCSOFT is going to do all new software engineering to make this all work. I base this comment on the game. They reuse where ever they can. To do a true integration this will be a lot of work. I look forward to hearing about the techinical details.

The 4 EU servers are being added to the NA server list and EU players will be able to log onto the NA servers and the NA players will be able to log onto the EU servers. Everyone will have 15 servers to play on.

EU players that have global names that are being used already by players on the NA server list will get a rename token or a slight change to their global names.
EU accounts are NOT being merged with NA accounts, nor are they creating new accounts.
This all has been explained several times in other threads. The Search tool is your friend.

It was also said that EU Account names that conflict with a US Account name would be changed. To EUAccountName. Which is presumably where Resident is getting the impression that there might be some sort of merger of the accounting system as well.
However, it turned out that Smith was not a time-travelling Terminator

Actually its probably the US client that would get dropped - I think that may actually have happened several years ago tbh - the EU one has multiple language capability and both can currently connect to either server farm by renaming it and maintaining a single product is much simpler.
EU and NA accounts will be able to play on, connect and transfer between all 15 servers
NA players will gain access to a German language server and a French language one - I expect the population of Vigilance getting a significant boost from Canadian players and given that it is probably the lowest population server of the 15 that has got to be good news.
The NA game client has nothing to do with account billing and the account servers are almost certainly the same code on both as things stand. When they need to perform maintenance on the account servers we lose the Store and annoyingly BM/WW but can continue to play - I suspect that BM/WW was probably put on the server it is on because both EU and NA account servers were co-located whilst the game servers were spread over 3 sites at the time.
The bad news is you are highly unlikely to hear anything about to technical details but in general merging datasets is a well understood process as long as the database structure is clear.
Its generally a straightforward process but does require a lot of dependency checking to avoid messing up the relationships - its usually best doing it one stage at a time testing after each - which is where it takes time.

As far as I'm aware, the EU and NA client have been the same executable since the EU launch.

Thought it was a bit after - about I4 or maybe i5 but in any event its long since and I'm certain they were the same at I6.

You could connect with the US client but you didn't have the option to select a language which there was on the EU one - its now set automatically according to the server.

You can even use a NA installation to get on the current EU servers by renaming CohUpdater.exe to CohUpdater.eu.exe - it'll do a little fixing files (probably to implement language flags) - and then you're good to go. Precious little difference between the two.
(I have no idea how to do it from the new NCLauncher, but with the old updater, super simple.)

1. For EU members, there is a signup in UK GBP or EU Euros. I'm in the US and I get a bill on my credit card monthly for $19.60(currency conversion and bank fees) for my monthly account. Will I be able to change my billing back/be given an option for USD after the merger?
2. Will I be able to apply NA codes to my remergered EU account?
