You do have some hope with this.

It is true that the mobs that come out of the ambush will attack you no matter what, but only as the ambush is triggered.

If the main farmer runs in and triggers all ambush triggers and you run in after or res after, then you just have large piles of mobs to deal with. Still not easy to survive but it is possible at that point. Cold/thermal domination is a good place to start with this. Both can help the primary farmer survive much easier with their shields and help them dish out more damage. Your going to have to rely heavily on inspirations. You'll need 50% def and 75%(capped, pretty much) resistance to survive. Use of vengeance and abilities such arctic fog can greatly reduce the pace of inspiration burn. Make sure you fill your inspiration with a good ratio of purp/orange inspirations beforehand.

I haven't experimented with this too much, but I can see some possibilities.

A Kin is always good to have to keep both characters damage capped that way both of you can just focus on inspirations for survivability. S/L farm would probably be best for the kin since they can softcap pretty easily.

The devs were aware of the bile spray exploit for months as well. Just because they dont fix it right away doesnt mean they think its hunky dorry if everyone runs ambush farms.

Had a redname on my ambush farm to show them how it worked. I have made no effort to hide the farm by name or by changing the name or the number. It is still up and running several months later. While it may not be with the "spirit" of AE, there are no rules being broken on those farms. (At least the ones I have seen).

Eh, the spirit of AE is what each individual user make it out to be. As you said, no rules are being broken and gaining exp in as short a time as possible is certainly reasonable.

Anyways, moving on to address some of other anti-ambush farm sentiments in this thread.

I too don't believe the devs will *fix* the ambush farm because the risk vs reward is not overly skewed. The whole discussion about the relevance of *time* in the equation is misguided because *time* is a constant variable. There are simply far too many in-game or even real life factors that can influence the time it takes to complete a mission(s). Party composition, player skill, ISP, internet traffic, map server congestion, just to name a few important factors.

With that said, if a group can plow through a kill-most ITF in 45 mins and in the process getting a couple of level 35s to level 37, does that mean the ITF needs to be nerfed? What about back in the days on red side where Liberate TV farm was all the rage. Lowbies were gaining a dozen levels or more in each 40 minute run. I could be wrong since I've taken a few breaks from the game since then but I don't recall the devs ever changing that mission. In my opinion, time is a far less important (if not overrated) factor than risk or reward when it comes to determining mission balance.

A well played kin corr or troller. The corr could afford to be more mobile

INvisible + Kinetics. Speed Boost the farmer. That's it. That's the best help you can give. Keep him SB'd and that's pretty much like bottled heaven. Invisible works great, and I don't think you get aggro from SB.

Tourettes.

That's not debt, those are my "fury bonus points"--Stahlkopf

MOST amazing Brute engineer goes to: Ultrawatt. His SS/Fire farm build is SMASH!
Congrats to Black Assassin! Won 100,000,000 INF for building most survivable NRG/NRG Blaster

No.

If you're going to stand around and do nothing as support, an Emp for AB would be better.

My SOed level 40 Fire/Fire tank can do the fire ambush map full clear (the single room with 2 crystals and the 60 minute timer) in 8 minutes set at 0/8/bosses on which will max the ticket cap without dying or with even close to a possibility of dieing. Anybody have some brute times for a full clear on this map?

So a pretty simple fire/fire tank build needs no support and only needs burn, fire sword circle, combustion, buildup, firery embrance, fire shield, plasma shield, healing flames, consume and blazing aura. So thats like level 37? The trick is to munch the insperations as fast as they come in to max out your def, health, acc, and damage. I blow up both crystals so I have a constant stream of critters at the agro cap on me at all times. I need no support (i never bring others into my maps), but I dont know how you would ever keep anybody else alive, but since I need no support I would not care.
