Problem with logging to Test EU

When ever I try to log to test I get the message:

Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll

I'm on windows XP and doesn't have that problem when logging to game. Same happens on both old and new launcher. Is problem related to game or my windows?

Which service pack of Windows XP are you running with? If you are not running XP 64-bit, then you will need service pack 3.

It is 32-bit version, but with service pack 2. Guess update of windows or reinstal is due.

Update to SP3

Posted

I don't know if the original poster's issue was resolved by upgrading to SP3, however, I'm suffering from the same problem and the same method hasn't fixed my problem. Some googling later and I realized that many people have this problem with many games. Often, the problem IS fixed by upping to SP3, but sometimes its not.

In my case, as of the patch this morning that it updated, I am no longer able to access the game because of this silly error. I updated to service pack 3, and rebooted. The problem remains persistent. I've done scan disk for errors and such, no luck. I'm looking into other avenues as well, but so far I haven't gotten lucky.

If there are any additional fixes that anyone might suggest or any other insights that might help me overcome this problem, I'm sure myself along with everyone else experiencing this issue now and in the future will appreciate it. While waiting for suggestions here or from support, I'm also trying to troubleshoot it as best I can with my own limited computer comprehension. My next best idea so far is to "repair" directx9 which seemed to work for several other people on another game forum, but I can't seem to figure out how to "repair" direct x when opening the program to install/repair it does neither, it simply "reads that I already have direct x" and skips straight to finish, giving me NO options.

At any rate, if I manage to solve my problem or find a solution elsewhere, I'll post here so that others who find their way here to solve this issue might benefit. If anyone has any help they can offer, I'm all ears!

Thanks a bunch!

Update: Okay, I'm at a freaking loss. That didn't work either. All I know is, I can no longer play city of heroes, and I still have months of purchased time that will just go to waste. Man I'm so frustrated. Why can't my computer ever work right?

^ Have you also installed all the post-SP3 patches? SP3 is 3 years old, so there's a fair number of other fixes etc that'll become available once you've patched.

No actually after sending some diagnostics in to support it seems I don't have SP3 installed, which is awfully curious considering I clicked it in the updater, and told it to install. I remember it starting, but apparently it didn't follow through. No idea why.

At any rate I'm running it now, had to go download it as a stand-alone installer and now I'm going to try that. I'll report back with my findings. Hopefully it works.

Update: After manually downloading and installing SP3, the problem has resolved! Thanks guys! Maybe its something to look out for. I told my machine to install SP3, and for some odd reason, it didn't follow through with the command. I *thought* I was updated, but I wasn't, support had to point that out to me haha. Anyways, all better now!
