Are Longbow Wardens supposed to be doing this?

I've had this happen to me two or three times tonight. I'm playing my SS/Fire brute, going along nice and happy, gotten the Longbow horde and the hated Lt's and their -Res grenades dead, and the rest of the mass with their -Def attacks, all I've got is a boss left, and my green bar is nice and happy being full, or close to it and then suddenly...

BANG! I'm dead from full health, or next to it, out of absolutely nowhere.

I've got all my toggles on (with Tough, mind you) and a few Inspirations because I have no defense debuff protection, so I go overboard on munching purple and orange candy.

Are the Energy Melee Longbow Warden bosses supposed to be able to, essentially, one shot a Brute from 99%ish max HP?

Welcome to Energy Melee.

There's a reason it used to be the single most popular Tanker powerset
(and is still quite popular)

In other words, yeah LB Wardens are rough.

Feel fortunate. They used to actually be able to one shot everyone but a brute with their Total Focus.
