Alpha Slot across builds

I looked around before asking but didn't see the answer to my question anywhere.

Is the Alpha Slot treated just like IO's when switching between builds? In other words, do you have to do it all twice or is it special somehow?

Either way kinda makes sense to me but I would think that it would not apply to both (or I guess there's 3 now) builds.

It's special, you make it once and can use it on all three builds.

Wow...I'm actually kind of surprised but like I said, it makes sense to me either way.
