Game shut down

Posted

I seem to be running into an issue. Whenever I log in and choose a character, the game load like normal and then as soon as the character and zone appear, the whole program shut off.

I restart the program and try to log in and it say that my account is still logged in, then a second attempt let me in like normal, but shut down whenever I enter the game itself past the load screen.

What's going on here?

.... if the computer caught fire I would suggest first of all turning it off.

Then I would suggest walking to the phone and calling the fire department. Let them check for any potential fire hazards.

Then I would call a licensed electrician to make sure there are no problems there.

Then I would call whoever sold you the computer and tell them the Magic-Smoke(tm) has been released.

Almost sounds like you're having a thermal issue.

When was the last time you cleaned out your case?

Also, can you grab something like CoreTemp and report your CPU temps?

Also, if you can, check the temps from your vidcard.

A bit surprised nobody else posted this yet... but you seem to have both Norton and Sophos security products installed and running at the same time.
Multiple security products usually conflict and cause system instability, although usually and especially when they have real-time scanning.
I'd recommend uninstalling Norton myself (you can get a seperate program from their website..the uninstaller that comes with it doesn't work, never has).

(I'm so glad I never bothered counting how many broken computers I've seen that had Norton installed... Big numbers can be sooo unatractive sometimes.)

Edit: Geez it's a nightmare finding this... Try this page: http://preview.tinyurl.com/2d7jvst

If we're all going to be oppressed and/or killed by someone, it might as well be the walking trees. At least they don't speak in annoying code or doublespeak. They just devour you.

Actually, I use Norton.

However the campus network I use doesn't recongize it so it bar access me to it. And the only way for me to use it is to use the provided program they give me.

However, I haven't had any problems with this when I played the game a couple of weeks ago. Now yesterday, after finishing a diffcult few weeks of classwork and on some free time, I can't play now.

Almost a hour later, no issues.

Maybe all I needed to do was to update my graphic drivers and RESTART the computer?

you should restart the computer after any driver update.
