The worst pet summoned is Dark Servant. Your to-hit goes through the floor when one of these is nearby. Kill it immediately or move away from it (immobilize/holds are good for this).

The other pets are mostly just annoying for tankers, but the four illusionists and the Master definitely can hold tankers and scrappers if they all fire off their holds at the same time and hit you. So melee types should carry at least one break free when fighting Carnies.

Correct. Rikti Drones have inherent Ranged and Melee defense, but not AoE.

Actually, Longbow Spec-Ops do the -regen. Longbow Nullifiers just do stun, knockback, and -res.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Guess we get to add in the Resistance in the 40+ game. They were an interesting mob in Praetoria, but with the new Maria Jenkins arc, lieutenants all have Targeting Drone (allowing the whole mob to shred defense based characters), and the entire mob gets to stealth in and out of sight.

If you're one of the few with a +perception IO or power, you might be okay for their stealthing, but popping a small yellow wasn't enough for me. Haven't figured out where their stealth levels are at yet. Blech, quite annoying. And I enjoy the challenge afforded by Carnies, Malta, and Vanguard, actually.

Belated Justice, #88003
Synopsis: Explore the fine line between justice and vengeance as you help a hero of Talos Island bring his friend's murderer to justice.

I primarily play Scrappers with defense as their primary mitigation, so when I'm facing large mobs of Nemesis I struggle with the Lt. dropping vengeance and the DE eminators that give the +100% to hit buff(forgot their name).

Quartz are the DE your're thinking about.

"Hmm, I guess I'm not as omniscient as I thought" -Gavin Runeblade.
I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

Any mob that summons non-xp-awarding helper mobs.

Having to clean up Death Shaman zombies or Tuatha stone pets or Rikti portal soldiers or Gun drones is just insulting.

The Nullifiers' -res grendades might as well be -regen, especially when stacked

I was wrong earlier. Resistance minions also have Targeting Drone. Egads. Not to mention stealth on par with Stalkers or better (can't target them when they're right next to you and stealthed... which is quite often).

The only mobs I have a true hatred for are any that do the periodic phasing crap. Everything else can be countered mechanically by something other than "kill the source before [x] happens". I think I probably would have mutinied if the introduction of Ghost Widow to the game as a mob would have meant a second Diabolique. I'm cool with powered phasing (Barracuda's Reichsman, CoP aspect, etc.) but the periodic on-off crap? Bleagh.

Yeah, and you can at least keep targeting on phasing mobs... Resistance stealthing in and out of sight mean you have to retarget when they pop back up. I can deal with Diabolique, Fake Nemeses, and Carnies phasing (even though I find them rather annoying). That resistance stuff... Oy. I'll be more fine against them on my Fire/Fire Tank with all my PbAOEs (but I can handle them on my Blasters as well), but that combo is just bad, in my opinion.

My "Kill it now!" list is fairly short. I tend to target whatever buffs the baddies first, like the surgeons in cimeroa and DE emenators. A lot of people mentioned the Carnie Master Illusionists, but I have a much harder time with the Ring Mistresses. That mask debuff they give is downright painful...

One thing I hate about Praetoria is that you can't change mission difficulty (at least I don't know how), and when it scales down the bosses to Lts when you're soloing some times it really doesn't de-fang them. Those Destroyer bosses, even as Lts, are brutal as hell.

My SR scrapper is the other way around: if it can't hit, it can't debuff me, so Ring Mistresses aren't a problem. Master Illusionists, on the other hand, have psi attacks that ignore positional defense, and summon a half-dozen pets that hit at 75% rather than the normal 50%.

Don't forget slows. Those pesky little mutts employed by the Council mostly ignore slows as well. I remember the first time I dropped Quicksand on a group of them. I was unpleasantly surprised.

Destroyer bosses are pretty close to the top of my "hate these guys" list. They just can't be held, even when scaled down to lieutenants.
