Bridging one PC to Another PC/Laptop Security Question
If I understand your setup correctly, you've got a wireless connection from your router to the laptop, and a wired connection from your laptop to the desktop. In that case, yes, the connection will still be secured since the only points the data's being transmitted wirelessly (i.e. the only places where data might be intercepted) is between the laptop and the router which I assume has the appropriate security settings.

Yeah, that's how it's set up. I just wanted to double check and see if my thought process was off. Thank ya kindly.

Silly question...
Why is the PC not hooked up to the router?
Why not just get a USB wireless dongle for the PC? They can be had rather cheaply.
If you want to go the way you're going, hey, great, just seems like more hassle to me than is needed.
Was sort of thinking the same thing. The power that laptop uses is way more than a wireless USB dongle for a desktop too. You can pick up an 802.11g dongle for around $20, if not less.
So I decided today, that after a full year of using nothing but my Asus G72GX, to bridge my PC to my laptop.
The two reasons I've been using nothing but the laptop are 1.) wireless internet without having to buy a wireless card for my PC (since it's built into the laptop) and 2.) better graphic card with dual processors on the laptop.
So, I just bridged my PC to my Laptop and it's sharing the wireless internet connection from the Laptop. Now, my PC is goign through the process of over a years worth of Windows Updates
Since my wireless internet is secured via a Wireless Lynksys router, I assume the the bridged internet connection remains secured since the PC gets its internet from the Laptop and the Laptop is keyed into the wireless secured network from the Lynksys router?
I've never bridged a connection between a secured wireless network before. Think I should be okay? Any tips or precautions?
