How To Post An Image - A Quick Guide

This question comes up a lot from people new to message forums and/or vBB. So, I'm making this quick guide to explain how to do it.

There are two ways to post an image. You can either manually add it, or you can have the forum automatically add it for you.

The Manual Image Add
To manually add an image to your post, you will need to use the vBB Image Tag. Simply place [img] before the URL to your image, and then [/img] after the end of the URL, like so:

[img]http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo240/jkeller0424/lols/vegan-zombie.jpg[/img]

You won't be able to see your image until you click either Submit or Preview Post.

The Automatic Image Add
To automatically add an image to your post, you will first need to modify your personal forum settings. Don't worry. It's easy.

Go to the User CP, and under Settings & Options, click Edit Options. When the page loads, press your End key to jump to the bottom of the page. In the Miscellaneous Options section, set the following:

Message Editor Interface -> Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing

Click the Save Changes button.

See? Easy!!

Now, when you make a post, you'll see the following icons at the top of the area where you enter your post:

You want to click on the one that looks like a picutre of a mountain with a sun or moon in the upper right corner:

When you click that, a box will pop up saying

Please enter the URL of your image:

There will be an area where you can type, and http:// will already be there. Type in or paste the URL to your image, then press Enter or click OK. Your image will automatically be added to your post, and you'll be able to see it immediatly:

No need to click Sumbit or Preview Post just to see your image.

The Automatic Image Add is my personal choice. It makes it really simple to just click 'n go.
