Show me your 'Arabian' costumes

I've got a character I'm wanting to make, partly inspired by Arabian legend, partly by Saharan Africa, and I'm a little stuck for costume ideas.

So if any of you artistic types have a costume along either of those lines, I'd love to see it for some inspiration and ideas. Thanks.

wish we had some Turbans and Head Scarves to play with. I also wish we had a red dot for foreheads.

Thanks guys. This is what I had come up with before this thread...

...so it would seem we think alike in some respects. Unfortunately I used dark reds against a dark red background, so it's kind of hard to see. If I had the MA booster I'd go Katana or Ninja Blade for that Chinese broadsword which is pretty sweet, but I guess I'll stick with BS for my stalker.

Thanks guys.

Here's Minaret who is actually 13th century Syrian but... hey, whatcha gonna do?

I tried several times to make a decent male Arabian costume last night in the classic style but the twin issues of "No head scarves" and "No robes" made it impossible for me to come up with anything decent. I could have worked around one or the other but having to fake both the head and body meant that my costumes always looked very non-Saharan. Maybe I'll give it another go today.

He's certainly... colourful.

Yeah. When I was Googling around for costume idea, color came up a lot since there was commonly some sort of robes worn over the armor.

I agree, Minaret is superb!

Well, it looks like the basics of my own costume already got used. Mine is, frankly, older than the designation 'Arabian', in that she goes back to the beginnings of society. I was thinking and researching 'Armenian' when I built the costume, and then the colors came after.

[Edit] Hmm, the picture doesn't show it well, but she has the 'supernatural' face with the lambent green eyes...

(Her Bio)
I can barely remember when I was just a woman, just a girl, but I was one – once.
I can just remember the first time the Goddess came to me, came into me, came over me, filled me, possessed me, spoke through me, and worked miracles through my hands.
And not just one goddess, but all goddesses, who are one goddess, over and over, through time.
I journeyed from place to place and people to people, as time passed.
Goddess-touched, I grew no older, I did not die – I went on.
Filled with power and miracles, I remained powerful.
I was Inanna. I was Ishtar. I was Isis.
I was Ashera, Astarte, Anahit, Artemis.
Many goddesses and one.
But she came less often.
And less often.
And not at all.
I was alone.

For a long time.

Now it is a new time, a new place, with new gods and goddesses.
And I am here.

Be Well!

Here's a pic I took of Genie Gold, with her new "light themed" powers. She's not really a genie or Arabian, but her powers come from an ancient magical artifact. It's kind of unclear whether her costume is really based on the powers of a genie, or if she's just unconsciously choosing a look to match that.

wow, mine looks so plain by comparison. Never could get into playing that character cause it wasn't quite right...If i ever get back my free time (unlikely) i'll have to try again.
