Can't hardly hear glowies..
Obviously you've tried the sound options ingame? Also make sure shes got the most updated drivers for her card. I'm running an Nvidia also but 99% of the time i have sound off so I won't be a lot of use unfortunately...though when i do have the sound fx on i have to turn up my volume just a tad so i can hear the glowies over fighting noises etc.
A lot of the tech minded players on these forums will want some sort of info, sure you'll see what i mean if you look at some of the other threads round here
Hope you guys find a fix

Thanks! That is our work around right now...crank it when looking for glowies! But she has to defeat all, then go back alot of the time, with sound way up! lol

I actually have played the last 4 years without sound because my comp took a major FPS hit anytime the sound was up. It was a bad comp, but since I bought a new comp recently I've turned the sound back up and have noticed the same problem with glowies. I know they actually turned the sound down a while back (maybe two years ago) because they were so loud they were heard through walls which caused played to spend time looking in the wrong places.
I know at one point there was a stickied thread here that showed how to exchange sounds with other sounds. I'm not sure if it would be possible to change the glowie sound with something of the players choosing or not but it sure would be nice to change it to a lovely ding or school bell type ring.
I know this doesn't really help but maybe you can find the stickied thread and/or a tech savvy guru will show up! Good luck, I'll be watching this thread!

Try changing your sound settings in Options... I had a similar problem a while back with enabling some of the sound options. I can't offhand remember which ones for sure and I don't have the game open in front of me right now but maybe turning audio to compatibility or turning off 3D sound did it.
Anyway, give it a try and see if it works.

Hi all! Actually this has always been the case on my wifes computer......she can barely hear glowies...even standing right next to them. Makes some mishs quite hard to solve!
btw, all other sound works fine, so it seems.
She has an NVidia card. Can't remember the exact one at the moment. (older one) Any common fixes for this, or this problem uncommon?? Just thought I would see if this is an easy, oh yeah I have heard of that problem, type of fix......cause i don't wanna get to crazy trying to fix it if it is a big deal!
Thanks for any help!
btw, Je Saist.....just hit your back button please .....I am officially requesting that you do not try to "help" me! Thank you, and have a great day!
