Yep the demographic of forum posters has interested me for a while. For instance when I use to play DAoC and the looked at the IGN class forums, the stealther/assassin forums were always the most popular, despite the class's general rarity ingame. Conversely the healer forums were slow, even though ingame they had a huge representation. If you check other games, even this one, the people who play support classes seem to be the type who are much less competetive much less likely to post. This is strictly my opinion based on all the online games I've played, of course. I do sometimes wonder if support issues get overlooked because of this but I digress.

The point that I am slowly trying to make is that I agree, the forums represent a certain particular type of gamer and not the playerbase as a whole, and those people tend to be more likely to complain (Even me!)

Then again I think its just human nature. We tend to remember bad not good. We tend to be blissfully happy and silent when happy and usually voice our opinions only if we are angered or annoyed. It makes sense though, if I had to constantly post what I liked about the game, as opposed about what I didn't like, these forums might get a bit spammed.

P.S Loving the fact other people are as excited as me. I can't wait for launch day and Nova Praetoria being packed!

I think the reason posters tend to be more likely to complain (or to praise even) is that we have invested more than just playing the game into the game.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

Sadly, I didn't preorder GR simply because like Geko, I too am not a fan of levels 1-20 and side switching never really appealed to me. I'm just waiting for them to add more upper level content to it, then I'll be able to join you all in this hyped goodness.

Y'know, it's weird I wasn't all that jazzed UNTIL I saw the FLOOD of heroes pouring in, and back to, the game.

I'm just psyched to see Paragon (at this point, and Praetoria eventually) packed to the gills with new/returning players.

Wondering if my very first uber-mentor Orion Arms will put in an appearance...
