Anyways, mobility 5870? You Should be able to drive every setting maxed, except one.
Don't enable Anti-Aliasing AND Ambient Occlusion, at least not right now. The two don't exactly work well together. No, I can't tell you when a fix for the two will propagate.
What about in CCC? Max all settings there and in game (leaving AO off, cus I like FSAA more then AO)?

Honestly I'd just leave the CCC on let the application decide.

Hmm, I did it the other way before you responded. I let CCC override but made sure to match up the settings in game. The only thing that I notice kills FPS is setting World Detail to 200%. 120% seems to be the magic number.
Don't forgot that laptop GPUs may be named the same as a desktop version but is radically less powerful. The laptop version of the 5870 is only as powerful as a HD 57xx desktop card.
World Detail use to only effect the range an object had to be within to be rendered but with the new shadow and reflection features, it affects these as well.
