DB/Elec - Scrapper or Brute
I think you'll do better damage on a scrapper.
Even just using BF -> AV, a brute needs 85-90% Fury to keep up. With the BF -> AS -> SS -> AS chain, the scrapper leaves the brute far behind.
I haven't bothered to check BF -> AS -> SS -> Gloom, but I doubt it'd be that great. Gloom does more damage than the second AS, but forces redraw and can't take a -res proc. It costs a sizeable amount of endurance as well, and the more you have to use Power Sink the less DPS you're going to deal.
That said, the above paragraph is mostly guesswork based on experience, and not actual experience.

My main issue is that Brute Claws/ has higher end cost and slower recharge, so I'm sure it would fall a good bit behind DPS-wise of a scrapper version. I looked at "The Results Are In..." thread, but Brute Claws/ isn't shown, so I don't know how much of a difference it would actually be.
DB/ doesn't have such a discrepancy for the recharge or end cost, and per "The Results Are In..", Scrapper DB comes in at 169.7 DPS/4.42, and Brute has 168.3 DPS/4.42 EPS. Both use BF>AS>SS>AS chain. Brute is calculated with 90% Fury, which on pylon runs or AV fights would be easily attainable. It's on teams where the difference would be most easily seen due to the shorter sustained combat, resulting in lower Fury.
Nihilli, any thoughts on Brute Claws attack chains and DPS?
The Gaussian's chance for Build Up proc in Blinding Feint will work better on a scrapper than a brute? Is that alone enough to make up the difference of ~1 dps "The Results Are In..." shows in the scrappers favour?

I think I have been persuaded that I need to have a brute, so this might as well be it.
I have made a few changes and eeked out 2.5% more damage, but the main question is can this run the BF > AS > SS > AS chain? With AS recharging in 1.64s and SS only taking 1.23s to animate (Or 1.36 I think with Arcanatime) I am slightly short, but is that pretty much a given in this attack chain?
Or can anyone see any improvements?

Nihilli, any thoughts on Brute Claws attack chains and DPS? |
Never looked at high end Claws attack chains too closely though, because the few times I did it wasn't super impressive for the amount of effort involved (compared to what could be done with another primary). On the other hand, getting to 190+ DPS is trivial and leaves room for, say, S/L softcap for an /elec build (and, /elec being /elec, you can add another 15 DPS from Lightning Field).
I thought I would sit down and have a better look at the brute v scrapper thing so can anyone correct my maths on this?
Taking into account double stacked BF, 85% fury, crits at 10%, no -res or +build up procs with an attack chain of BF > AS > SS > AS:
Brute -
Lightning field: 19.25 dps
154.8 + 290.5 + 363.9 + 290.5 = 1099.7 in 5.1s = 215.63 dps
Total = 234.88 dps
Scrapper -
Lightning field: 12.9 dps
(172.9 + 320 + 418.6 + 320) x 1.1 = 1354.65 in 5.1s = 265.62 dps
Total = 278.52 dps
I have counted the slight pause in my attack chain (I think) though I haven't counted on Arcanatime (Overall difference wise it won't matter will it?).
Is 85% fury reasonable? Or should I have gone for 90%? And does anyone know how to work the -res or chance for build up into that?
The -res proc made about a 20dps difference for Shadowsylph looking at his post, so this build could be awesome if I got the maths right.

I posted something similar in the Brute section, but really should have come here first to be honest
Basically I am trying to make a single target damage dealer (Now my Elec/Shield is finally finished!) inspired by Shadowsylph, the DB/Elec who is quite high up in the Rikti Pylon soloing chart. I was planning on making a scrapper, but I don't have many villains (Other than MM's) so was thinking about making it a Brute instead.
My questions are:
Will I do more overall damage as a scrapper or a brute?
Is Gloom worth fitting into the attack chain (If not I think only due to redraw)? And if so what is the best attack chain? I was thinking it might be BF > AS > SS > Gloom?
