Email and Supergroups

Hello, everyone.

I uncovered a situation today with the new email system, and want some opinions.

Apparently, out-going emails are not allowed if you have more than 20 emails in your inbox. This may be some type of limiter intended to curtail spamming. Although I can't see how that works. Seems as though the person recieving the email is punished for getting them. But, I digress . . .

The related situation to my post is that I use (and have used) the in-game email system ro communicate with members of my Supergroup. I have sent and recieved emails from members on a variety of topics. Many of these I want to keep as they contain useful information (even if they are several years old, and from people that are no longer in the SG, or the game).

Due to the new limit, I cannot retain these messages if I want to send new emails. At least I found that to be true with global email. There has to be another way to do this. In the present system, the only thing I can think of is to forward the messages I want to keep to other characters so I can clear space to send new emails.

I sent a petition on the subject, but all I got was a "look in the forums" reply. Has this issue been brought up before? If so, please let me where to find it. Thanks!

Open Notepad
Switch back to CHV
Click and highlight text of Email in game
Press Ctrl+C
Switch to Notepad
Press Ctrl+V

Repeat as necessary until all of the email(s) are copied into the file

Click "Save as"

I suggest a name like "CoHCoVEmailFile.txt"

Now this will be your running file. Any time you receive a new email with info you'd like to keep, just open the file and copy into it and resave.

With a saved copy, you can delete emails from your list to stay under 20.

That was exactly the first thing that popped into my head...

Now that we have the ability to copy/paste in game, the easiest thing to do would be to copy them and paste into a new "outside" file.

The thing is... no matter what the cap was to be set at, somebody would assuredly hit it sooner or later. Time to adapt.

Outstanding idea, Shadow.

It also allows the info to be handled outside of the game.

I haven't used much of the copy and paste, but start right away.

Thanks!
