Spines/Elec Scrapper
I love all the +rech and +dam you have in your build; it's very impressive, but like you said, without some regard toward defense, +HP, +regen and resistances, you'll die a lot.
I built mine for S/L and melee defense and although your damage output is clearly better, my build has better defense, resistance, and regeneration, and I have no survival issues running at +2x8. Here's what it looks like.

That is a very interesting build, when I have a chance to sleep I will take a serious look at it.
Lisa eagerly looks at both builds then sadly shakes her head.
My Spines/Elec just turned 40 and I am having a wonderful time...but...Lisa hangs her head....my build looks nothing like these two.
I knew from trying to beat Defense into my Fire/Fire that I was not going to be able to afford it...so I frankenslotted a bit and went after the basics. I used four Eradications in every power that accepted them, I have Improved Slow Bonuses from Pacing the Turtle and, I forgot what the other was, Impeded Swiftness I think. I have some accuracy bonuses...and so far so good..nay better than good... I am loving this toon
But, I am not trying to go 4/8, I am 1/2 solo so that might make a difference.
Actually, I am 0/1 in Romanland (Ouchies), 1/3 for missions in the Rikti warzone, and 1/2 for all else.
Welp, Have to scoot my boots to work.

But I have seen some of the "inexpensive" builds" posted here....and they are not so inexpensive

But so far so good. I am a level 43 now and am having a very, very good time.
Grin. I took down the Clockwork King the first try

He was an EB, but all I had was small inspirations, and, I do not have Build Up, or Tough, so it was a good thing he was an EB..oh, and I was on 1/2 difficulty.

So, I've been playing my Spines/Elec/Blaze for a good while now. I really enjoy all three sets, but im finding (I also totally expected this) that I die alot. Now, Im not to concerned about this as I like the charecter anyways. I was just wondering if anyone else had any ideas on slotting, possibly for some defense. As you can see in the following build I essentially went for pure recharge.
