How to reach new players?

I'm running a costume contest on Justice, and I have a category for newbs.

My problem is that how can you effectively reach them? Granted using the forums here is a good way to get people who know what is going on already, but short of broadcasting in AP/Mercy on every server, how would you find new players (<6 months) to make sure they know about my event?

Broadcasting is just about the only way, I think - I've met quite a few new and newish players who didn't even know the forums existed

I actually see the most =new= players in The Hollows. Something about following the contact chain they're taught to follow. You finish up your first contact in Atlas or Galaxy pretty quickly and get sent to The Hollows, where you spend a lot more time.

TL;DR version: Try broadcasting in The Hollows.

yeah, with Toast here. Broadcast around the low level zones, and make sure you give time for new players to walk or die to Atlas.

Took me a month to find the forums. NT has a good idea about broadcasting in the low level zones. If you have people helping you with this such as SG mates, I'd send them out to spread the word.

If your newb category is going to be 6mo or less, then you probably want to hit most of the zones. I mean it took me 9 months to get my first 50, unless they've been affected by altitis early on I'd expect to see new players to be in the mid-30's to 40's (although to new SSK has made leveling much easier.)
