Claws/SR question

Well, Clawls/SR scrapper is now level 26 almost 27, and wow is it abit of a pain to stick with in these levels. Most of my leveling is done soloing so I'm still thinking that it might be awhile for me to hit 50 with this bugger.

Shouldn't be TOO much of a pain, what powers did you pick and slot so far? My fire/sr with no mitigation didn't do TOO bad. On a team it should be enough, if you get in a bad situation popping a luck should solve most problems.

I mean you are in the "lowbies" levels somewhat, don't expect to take on +3 enemies.

Shockwave's AoE can be impressive if you dont mind the scatter. Nevermind spin.

Id say give it to 35ish, thats when my claws/sr started to really become a beast.

AoE defense finally, slots in spin, eviscerate, shockwave.

Its a late bloomin combination for sure. Then a mad dash to the finish.

Well, Super Reflexes takes a while to get good, but you're on the upswing now. It should just keep getting better and better from here.

That's good to know. I was starting to get abit worried there. So used to how my tanker handled and with him with each level he got he became more and more of a beast. With this one it seemed to peak at a certain point, then start to drop back down abit. As for what I'm normally doing solo it's usually +0/2 with bosses included. But this is definitely something I plan on seeing through to the end no matter what. It's already nice to see myself putting out more damage then my tanker could.

+3 X8 pose no problem for my claws/sr.
Id imagine +4's wouldnt be much different.

Alright, so I've run into a little problem with one of the powers and was curious, is Shockwave important to running a claws/sr scrapper. The knockback is a serious annoyance. I do enjoy the knockdown, but having to chase my target down is seriously annoying.

I'd say try to play with Shockwave for a while, see if you can adjust your playstyle around the power.

I couldn't personally, but many claws scrappers are happy with it and it can be a big asset for both damage and mitigation.

It's worth mentioning the KB turns into KD against +4s, too. If you spend a significant part of your playtime fighting +4s, Shockwave is probably worth getting for those times even if you don't use it at all in other situations.

Besides using terrain (walls) to clump spawns together with shockwave, I tend to open with shockwave against the front of a spawn. With practice you can get fairly good at actually packing a spawn tighter, you can't hit the entire spawn to do that. Then you can run in and hit Spin and hit more targets.

Until your defense is keepign you alive you may also use Shockwave more defensively, when they are laying on their backs or getting back up they aren't attacking. Using it as a mitigation tool is a fine use.

Hitting Shockwave in the middle of a spawn that isn't immobilized will usually result in undesired effects, so as with anything, practice makes perfect.

Using shockwave all willy nilly isnt a good idea like others have said.

But it does have uses.

1. As alpha mitigator. Throwing that out against difficult opponents can spare you from an undesired alpha strike.

2. As mob positioner', Lining that cone up to knock a group against a wall for a giant spin sure is fun! target mob, sidestep back to line up eviserate. I can sometimes get a good cone lined up on that for some moar AoE damage. Follow up and focus for that odd man out.
