Why is there no Praetorian Nemesis...
I'm pretty sure the devs said at Hero Con the Praetorian Nemesis is dead.

after all, we all know how permanent death is in a comic book universe.
Lord Nemesis cannot be stopped by mere death. In fact, if he did die, I'm certain he only did it as part of a grander scheme our puny minds cannot begin to fathom.
Unlike our Nemesis, Praetorian Nemesis managed to work up the nerve to ask his crush out on a date and the would-be conqueror was brought down by that most ancient and powerful weapon some call love. He told his wife on many occasions that he would not trade her for the world itself.
Nemesis would weep if he knew what he has lost, but because he does not, we may weep for him.
By removing Nemesis, Recluse, and possible the Clockwork King, I think the devs are giving mroe room to create a storyline that's a lot different from our world - by removing a lot of the major faction leaders, they're able to give Tyrant more of a special place, and show how powerful he is.

Personally Smurch, Im normally on same page with yah, in ideas & thoughts when you post.
But to be honest, Im tired of Nemesis too, don't get me wrong he is a great Classic Villain, but I am also very tired of him & his faction(Very Very Tired).
Lord Recluse is also dead in Praetoria, which I am tad sad about, I really wanted to see Arachnos move foward more in our world & more story on Recluse & possibly him finally kicking the living snot out of Statesjerk & set up catalyst for other heroes to be involved in the forefront. Sorta Superman vs Doomsday, but Statesman stays dead for much much longer time.
Now personally in Praetoria, I want to know how some groups I personally LIKE on Earth Prime, are doing. Here is a list of them.
1. Malta
2. Vahzilok
3. Skulls
4. Coralax
5. Crey Industries
6. The Knives of Artemis.
Those 6, I would love to see information on any Preatorian selves. Would Malta & The Knives be opposing Emporer Cole(since they are basically terrorist group on Prime, so would they be there? or perhaps actual Shock Troops for Cole?)
Dr. Vahzilok, what's he up to over there? Could he actually moved up the food chain & have higher lvl minions or done something completely different like Cyborg Zombies?
Skulls even around? I hope so... I really do like them.
Crey, I mean Come on CREY! Sure Lord Nemesis is all over, but so are they, Countess always has her hands in something, its like those 2 should be Husband & Wife, then bicker over who gets to wear the pants.
Of course Coralax & everything they represent here, what about over there?
Personally, I would want to know more on Malta & Doc V. more then Nemesis. I would also like to know more about the Praetorian Arachnos, since they ARE there, but thats all we know.

If I had to guess, I'd say Dr. Vaz's probably a "legitimate" scientist in Emperor Cole's stable somewhere. Probably with an attitude along the lines of Aeon.
Countess Crey's been shown to be a hero in Praetoria.
It's hard to tell with Malta - they could be with Tyrant, because he seems to have almost every metahuman under control - but he's also a metahuman himself, who has total power, so they may be against him.
Doctor Vahzilok would probably prefer Tyrant than the Resistance - Tyrant is way more likely to supply him with fresh test subjects, for example - and approve of his methods, and he could rise a lot higher than the outlaw he is in this world.
Also, if the Resistance are trying to restore a more normal world, then they're wanting it to be more like our one, which would mean Dr. V. woudn't really have a place in it either.
The Skulls are most likely part of the Syndicate now - they're too smalltime to survive alone in the kind of society Tyrant has created - so I think they'll have had to join the other gangs, or have been wiped out.
Not sure about the Coralax - if they don't disturb Tyrant, then he might not bother them - although, he could also view them as similar to the Devouring Earth - as a nature-based threat to an ordered society.
Crey would be with Tyrant, I think - from a business point of view, siding with the Resistance would hardly maximize profits, but in Tyrant's "survival of the fittest" society, they wouldn't even have to try and pretend to be nice anymore.
Plus, their hero cloning project could be useful to Tyrant if there was a way to make the clones totally obedient to him, so he'd have a personal army as back-up against any internal threat from the Praetorian Guard.
The Knives would possibly work for both sides, although I think Tyrant could afford to pay them more, and the resistance mightn't totally trust them.
Although, if they put a lot of importance in their female-only cult, then they might prefer the Resistance, which seems to be led by a woman, rather than taking orders from Tyrant.

Dr. Vahzilok bought the Science Pack and is now...
the Zomborg Queen.
I think there is alot of reaching as far as some villains are concerned.Especially with the OP's constant "well he could be alive" attitude even after the devs have stated that they will not be in Preatoria.
Try this one on for size how about "NEW" enemies, new organizations, and mirror representations of existing ones.I'd rather see new villains instead of the rehash, yes, there is Rikti,DE,and Emperor Cole's clockwork. But,wouldn't it be better to have something alittle more refreshing come along.
People are always complaining about no new content,so I say new villains, new zones, new mishes.Sounds much better than "oh another Nemesis mish(rolls eyes)".The game evolves and hence new content is a way for it to evolve.
Besides with our little Nemesis I'm sure he has been to Preatoria, why he isn't a threat is unknown. But,at this point it is conjecture and wishful thinking on some peoples part.
What dimension was Nemesis Rex from?
This is a broadcast from Loyalist Television.
Emperor Cole: "Have no fear dear citizens, there are no Nemesis plots here. Nemesis, the plague of that sad other dimension died in our beloved country as an old but content man. So so not worry. No Nemesis Plot." Bzzzttt.
This broadcast was sponsored by The Thought Police. Happy thoughts are good thoughts.
It is quite plausible there IS a Praetorian Clockwork King. In fact, I'm going to go ahead and speculate that there will be an arc in the Loyalists where the Blue Clockwork are going haywire and attacking Praetorian forces and *gasp* you must track down the reason.
People never give the Clockwork King enough credit. He murdered an entire planet with his MIIIIIIIND. |
Never specified.

It's the same reason I now can't stand Blue Steel. Blue Steel = Chuck Norris also got old REALLY fast. (Doesn't help that I don't like Chuck Norris anyhow.)

Point being, a bunch of Nemesis Automatons that looked like Praetorian Clockwork would not raise eyebrows from the Psychic Friends Network.

Possibly Hamidon somehow. The Devs stated a large chunk of the Praetorian world is overrun with Devouring Earth. Of course, Hamidon Prime and his Devouring Earth is not known for subtlety, so a Praetorian version would have to vary on that point.

A fair point there. A giant, single celled monster sitting in the open (or even lightly concealed) would be utterly annihilated. Not only would Cole try to rip him apart with his bare hands, but it has also been demonstrated that the Emperor would not hesitate to nuke everything in a 1000 mile radius around Hamidon.
I'm with you. A far more insidious and subtle Hamidon seems likely.

This would be a very interesting type of enemy, one who devours ppl in the middle of night kind of thing.Sorta like the enemy in Dean Koontz "Phantoms",yea I could get behind that kind of version a more subtle and insidious Hamidon. One who knows that open activities against Cole's regime would be met with a large scale conflict.

Apparently it is his own dimension outside of Praetoria.
I'd be curious where you're coming up with that conclusion. Most of the people I know are actually amused by Nemesis and how he seems to have his fingers in absolutely everything. |

Outside of the forums, I have spoken with precisely zero players who think Nemesis is anything but a trite, unimaginative and poorly-written plot device. (And I'm on some very active globals.)

I think the real question is: Will I be able to see my own reflection in Nemesis' chassis?
Hamidon controls human impostors made of jello to infect the city with the will of the earth. They ask for TPS reports.
