Im playing with a Dell Studio 1555 and its constantly overheating. I thought the studio line was made for gaming but I guess its not.
I got this cooler/stand http://www.targus.com/us/product_det...px?sku=AWE14US but it makes no difference, my laptop is still overheating.

Can anyone recommend a different one?

I used to play with an old dell and it never overheated, but on this one its shutting down every half hour

I play on a Dell XPS laptop, and use a NZXT Cryo LX cooling pad, and it seems to do a nice job. Nothing gets really hot, as these high end laptops usually will, and it's plenty wide. Mine is a 17" widescreen, and the pad is still a few inches wider than my laptop, so it should handle about anything out there. Adjustable speed fan and extra usb ports in the pad, as well, though I turn the fans all the way up and leave them there, and it's quiet, to boot.

*still not diggin' the "Click a Quick Reply button" thingy...*

I play, if I have to, on a Dell Inspiron C840. It sucks a lot, but it works, I have a specially made 4:3 hero called Notebook Warrior for when I'm on it. To keep it cool, I pop out the front loaded batteries (It has a spare in the second slot) and prop it up with those, as it's on AC anyway if I'm playin'. That's all that's needed, it keeps the heat trapping out of the picture... You can tell when it's gettin' heatsoaked...

/and the angle of the keyboard is actually quite nice that way.
//I'mma gonna call the thing Energizer... it keeps going, and going...

Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012
