Can we get an official Colour Help Thread?

So I super enjoy the new features introduced in I16, and I'll admit the colouring of your powers are my favorite. For many of my toons finding the colour I want isn't that hard but for a few and one in particular I'm having a very hard time finding the combo of colours that create the look I want.

I have a sonic/dark corrupter named Egyptian Cottonmouth and I need some help changing the colour of her powers, Shadow Fall and Darkest Night in particular. I wanna get away from the Darkity Dark default colours to more of a Sandity Sand. I've blown a couple of hours in the coustume creator so far on trying to find the look I want on test, but I can't quite nail it down. I'm hoping someone with more colour and fashion sense can help me out and give me advice on which combination of colours will give me a more sandy straight from the desert look.

If you look at the color like a Map Grid, for Dark, using D5 and D7 I got:


For Sonic, Bright D9 and D3 match the above pretty well.

I was just doing something like this for an Ice/Dark Corr who's got a lot of fall browns in her color scheme. I didn't find it all that hard to find something suitable, I just kept clicking on all the yellow-y/beige-brown colors until the combo works out ok.

Really, I think the more we all mess around with this the easier it'll be for us. In the meantime, have fun with it, go nuts and see what weirdness you can find.
