Just remember to turn your speakers down when the Bot horde runs by, or it may shake your house down!
That's going to be six dispersion bubbles, two hurricane/steamy mists...

Looking forward to this! There should be some crazy defense numbers when we're all sticking together. And I hope we don't do too much splitting. It'll be fun to watch a full team of robots getting around
I think we'll have to split up by virtue of the fact that we'll have 48 robots with us!
Ambushes stop eventually.

So Hamster, since Posi confirm GR is full side switching in his interview, you going to try to get all MM TF's/Trial going?
Still deciding what I will switch around.
Depends. Going to have to see how annoying / easy it is to switch. If switching is easy, sg management and membership is going to be annoying.

The process of going from hero to villain or vice-versa won't be as simple as just flipping a switch, and the team wanted to avoid something gimmicky, where you'd pay five dollars and wake up to see your character in new tights. Going Rogue's approach is a lot more of a story-intensive process than that. The idea is for the player to feel that their hero is falling, or that their villain is redeeming themselves. Your hero will become a vigilante, looked down upon by other heroes, while a villain will become more of the classic rogue, on the other side of the law rather than simply evil. This decision isn't permanent, either. You can flip back and forth, if you decide that your character's morally ambiguous enough to make the switch more than once. Players will embark on clearly marked missions that will alter their character alignment along the moral compass. They'll play out similarly to how newspaper and police scanner missions currently work, though they won't be as "mad libby" as those, more tied to the decisions that players make. These missions will have recurring characters and enemies that will feature largely into the story that players build around their new role. These central story characters will be going along their own progression path, changing sides with the player. |
Of course, I won't be able to go now. I have to log soon and won't be back tonight. Sorry all! *grumble
As expected this was nuts. It was like running a mobile Hamidon Raid at times, especially with the huge ambushes dropping the draw distance so low that Reichsman kept running out of LOS. OTOH, we blew through Reichsman without even really having to bother with the ambushes. After he was dead the bots were able to stack up an absolutely absurd number of burn missiles on the packed up ambushes. There were times with noticable Hamidon lag though.
Managed to maintain a framerate between 5 and 12 for most of the TF though. It was pretty weird zoning out in to Grandville and being relieved at how much your framerate jumps up.
The strangest thing was that apparently if you get too many MMs together (or maybe it was just the bots?) the sound will start crapping out regularly.
The hardest part was the level 53 Numina. She is a pretty tough customer.
Quite the experience not soon forgotten! lol!
All in all, I had a blast and had horrible merit roles.
Thanks Hamster and gang for the evening.
That definitely felt more laggy than the All-MM ITF. I guess we can chalk that up to most maps being enclosed spaces.
I filed a bug report on our sound issue. I'm thinking that the problem may have been all the dispersion bubbles and not the fact that we were MMs.
I'm thinking that the sound issue was something like a queue buffer overflowing due to the massive ammount of powers going off all the time with 56 folks ( pets + MMs ).
You know, I've done all MM's of most of the strike forces, the level 50 respec, ITF, Lady Grey, and NEVER had problems like last night.
I suspect that's because this was the first time we've had nearly all bots and/or that many dispersion bubbles. Our team consisted of:
3 bots/traps
2 bots/ff
2 bots/storm
1 thugs/dark
My framerate was generally 8-14, but dropped way down towards the end. And the weird thing, as others have pointed out:
The entire team was loosing sound. At the same time. Either NO sound entirely, or just the background of the map or the sound of dispersion bubbles. Way bizarre.
