Ooooh!
Love it!
As you said, it has something simple about it, but at the same time isn't simple at all, it's just easy to look at.
I love the pose, it's so very heroic/defiant/victorious (only comment would be how and where the mace is held )
The 'background' glow with lines really gives it an energetic feel.
It's like he's being empowered by the mace he just pulled from a stone (who said it could only be swords? >.>.
Or that he's powering up to...
One comment about your recent 3D art, the surfaces look somewhat plasticy...

Thanks ShadowGhost^^

Oh ? Ah yes ! I know what you mean, at least for the ones before this one : I used the ink and paint texture who offers only one kind of light, making all of this, kinda "plastic" as you say. Well, I'm not going to make an encore with this texture, too much problems with it
I think you are going crazy mate... Your art not going any worse instead i am thinking it is going better and better. Yeah different from your earlier works but far from bad, they have a different touch on them.
Picture is awesome, i am not sure how you make 3D works look like this but it is more like a hand drawn. Ummm if you want my critics:
None... i like it as it is.
Keep going sista'.
I'm definitely trying to choose between "I've just <insert lifelong ambition here> and this mace is my victory!", and "I've just fallen off a mountain and this mace suspended in mid air is the only thing that's stopping me from falling."
The extension on the right arm suggests, imho, that it's holding all his weight, so he's either flying with it or hanging on for dear life - exacerbated by the exact 90 degree angle of the mace itself.
The background is cool, as is the energy around the figure - the figure too is awesome.
If that was my toon, I'd absolutely love it. As it's not, and I get to play Simon Cowell without having to look you in the eye, I'll just say watch your weighting and you'll get fantastic images.

Thanks a lot Knightly Recently, I began to wonder if my (poor^^) skills were in fact dropping. I was doing too much in 3D and almost nothing in retouch. I just forgot how to make something simple and nice. I want to go back to this, well, not all the way back, but a little^^

Amatheon
Not that I want to compare my work with Boris Vallejo's art (*bow down* YOU'RE MY MASTER AND MY INSPIRATION !!!!), I'm not that stupidly vain
But, really, what is most important here ? The equilibrium or the aesthetism of the pic ? I know that it's impossible in reality to hold an object this straight, but creation is about going beyond reality limitations to create art
So nope, I'm not going to change it
Hey, I never said change it!
Amatheon, too, does look like his right arm is holding all his weight, until you spot that a) he's not holding anything and b) that he's grounded - in that we can see he's kneeling on/clambering up that rock. So, his super-straight arm reaching up is to show off/reach for the flaming thing, depending on how you see it. Which is what it boils down to, after all.
But I'm just being picky and, hopefully, constructive for the future

Good Because right now I'm not sure I would be able to remember what kind of effects I used for the final pic
