It would be a spoiler

[/ QUOTE ]

No it wouldn't - now tell me, or I'll be forced to "investigate" you until you do

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually since it is the first and only mission you can do when you start. I don't think it is a spoiler to say

Ner ner not telling

If you were closer, you'd be punished

I guess I could read it on Paragonwiki, but a simple "yes" or "no" here would be easier

My guess is that VEATs are, or become, Destined Ones, as I know there are some CoV missions that are build around the Destined One idea

Well I finally managed to play a villain to level 50. When I hit it I decided to fire up a widow and see what they played like. Frankly I was disappointed. So I started a soldier. Again meh. Where is the WOW in VEATs? They seem very lacklustre. At level 6 my HEAT could transform into a new entity. I can still remember going squid and someone saying "wth is that?" in a team. At level 6 my widow got another pointy attack.

Do people ever look at a widow or soldier in game and say "wow I can't wait to get one of them"?

..and I got wowwed just looking at all the numbers XD . The wow part comes from what you make of it.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

By the way, how do the VEAT arcs fit in with the whole Destined One storyline of CoV?
When you break out of the Zig, is it just assumed you were a Destined one who'd joined Aachnos, rather than a normal freelance Villains?

They fit into the Destined one Storyline like a glove. A seamless excellent storyline. It would be a spoiler to tell you if they are destined ones or not. And I wont tell ya (for one thing I still have to find out myself ). Besides, this is a ploy to get you to play another character!

I never really got on with the VEATS. Played as a widow for a bit, then realised she played too much like a stalker but without the hide. I'm sure they're a lot more fun when you get to 24 and can specialise, but even then it seems rather shoehorned into being a dominator type or a scrapper. Both of which can be done better by their dedicated classes.

Spiders offer a few new tricks at least. Not played with one to great lengths, so I can't really comment much. But then they're also the class I see most abundantly in the Rogue Isles, and I was never content to go with the crowd

Characters:
The Heroic Mary Grace (50)
The Mystical Thunderspark (50)
The Candy-loving Little Jenny (50)

For VEATs the WOWs arrive at 24. It's a combination of "Wow, I thought that slog through 24 levels of enduranceless hell would never end. Followed by "Wow, nifty new powers of doom!" , and then, "Wow, that would have killed me twice over before I did the respec! Mua ha ha ha!!! "

SPOILER WARNING:

If I understand things correctly you discover that you are a Destined One as you go through the arc - tho I've not completed it myself so I could be mistaken.

Personally, this is ok, a bit weak maybe, but I really wanted to play an Arachnos Agent and NOT be a "Supervillain" - I don't want to be a Destined One all the time.

I really enjoyed the ride to 50 on my huntsman. I read a great guide on the US forum about playing a gun toting badass and got totally hooked into the concept. The play style is probably very similar to a AR/traps corrupter but without all the lame setting up the traps.
I found that with double assault running not much survives my Wide area web grenade, venom, frag & heavy burst attack chain. With double manuvers going i dont get hit much either, neither does my team.

I thought I would need to get aid self, but in the end I never did and didn't miss it at all.
It's great playing a character that adds a visable differance to a teams survivablity and damage output, somthing I don't really feel when plaing my Kelds.

I somtimes feel that maybe kelds should bring buffs to a team they join intead of leaching of them, to make up for all the hassle of cysts.

Widows are hard going until you get to 24, then its like a different world. I think its having 'Foresight' that makes the biggest difference, its a major boost to survivablity.

You can say "yes" or "no" without it being a spoiler

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes and No.

And the spoiler earlier in the thread isn't exactly correct either.

I really should do something about this signature.

As a VEAT you don't start as the "Destined One, or even as a Destined One. In the process of the story you do not discover that you are the destined one.
You're just an ambitious Arachnos Peon at the start. Sure you meddle with Project Destiny (who doesn't?) so you can get at the perks available to the other PC villains. I'll stop there to avoid spoilers.

It's ok - I had the info passed to me via PM

[/ QUOTE ]

But if they are a villain can you really trust their information? It may be a cunning plot to lull you into a false sense of security!

It's better to play through the story to get a better feel of how it fits into the overall CoV plot. But GG's too much of a goody two shoes to try.
