More Game Difficulty
I should have been clearer actually GrinningSpade, I have nothing against ghosting normal missions (It's what my Bane does best) but I was talking about TF missions where ghosting just cuts down on completion time and in the long term leads to less rewards for everyone else.

I Think Ghosting has its place even on TF missions it is after all a stalkers primary skill and illusion trollers also have those handy invis powers but it should be made difficult.
More mobs that have good perception especially in patrol groups would add a proper degree of stealth i think.
Indeed Ghosting should be doable even in TF's. Removing them won't do much to make the TF harder as well. It only makes them longer and more boring.

Skipping to the end and missing 90% of the content in a mission just makes you miss the content. And its the content that actually make the missions fun. If you find a TF tedious then don't do the TF (Or read the story and try to feel part of it) rather than trying to skip through it quickly or it will just result in overall lower rewards for everyone.

To add to the above I don't mind if there are missions 'designed' for ghosting and rewards adjusted accordingly. I just hate seeing people speed run things like Katie Hannon and having it end up almost rewardless.

Thing is not fighting the mobs is not skipping content its just not fighting mobs its playing to your strengths
look at it this way 2 teams team 1 consisting of 8 stalkers and team 2 consisting of 8 brutes.
by and large the stalkers are more than likely going to play to there advantage and avoid mobs where they can and move directly to the objective after all why waist time and risk potential death fighting the minions when you can go strait to the head. the brutes on the other hand are more than likely going to smash everything in sight between them and the finale boss.
in the end yes the stalkers probably completed the mission in a fraction of the time the brute take but will have a received a fraction of the XP, Inf, salvage etc that the brutes have received.
Its down to personal preference really.
Of course the problem with this is if the dev's re adjusted things like merits to work of time spent on mission all the farmers would do is go to end of TF then sit and wait but this could be solved with things like patrols spawning with heightened perception even better if attacking these spawned patrols caused other to attack as well

Katie is an example of what I call a good TF.
It starts with a series of very tough fights that asks for a dedicated good team to pull it off. The missions after that is a rescue mission that can be ghosted. Since it is often a large map a good idea. Most often the ghosters will need some help dealing with the opponents in there.
Then you have a kill all mission in an interesting map to keep you entertained with vicious opponents.
Finally it got a mission that can be ghosted as well IF you use the right approach to it.
Each and every one of these missions requires a different tactic to do it efficiently. Of course you can always opt to just kill everything inside instead of playing it smart but that is up to the players.
The only problem I have with it, is the fact that it starts with a climax and ends with a fizzle.
I like Katie for the same reasons as I like ITF. Every mission is different from the others.
Ps.
In a TF you miss half the conversation if you are not the teamleader. A shame really.

Yeah that is a bit sad, and I actually like the Katie Hannon TF too, but the fact it is ghostable has reduced the rewards to almost nil. I do not want to see the same happening to all the other TF's too.
I guess some kind of reward vs % of mobs killed system would be nice, modified by difficulty too. So killing all on all missions at 5th diff would net 100% of the available reward and ghosting to kill only 1% on 1st would only net you 0.5% of the possible reward.

It is indeed a shame that a TF such as Eden is not worth anything anymore. Shame because it has an unique and interesting map and a challenging AV. That one could have some tweaking in the missions to make it less ghostable.
Nothing wrong with ghostable missions. The xp is in defeating opponents, not in the tiny amount you get for succeeding in a mission.
And for some of my characters, ghosting is what they are what they do. I love it when my Stalker walks into an heavily guarded complex only to do what is needed without anyone the wiser.
My brute on the other hand just beats up everything in sight for the fun of it.
