i dnt understand
Anything that floors accuracy , recharge rate , endurance , detoggles .
Is always going to be beter then something that floors def when hit for pvp .
Its simple as that , there are side effects in pvp that haven´t been calculated or encountered in pve.
DM bad for pvp hardly likely , if oppenent is forced to pop yellows to fight you , then he is already forced to play its jokers .
But honestly can´t imagine PvP to be a standup fight especially in CoX where kiters have a huge advangetage.
you should of taken him to the arena dude! But constant debuffing from Dark Melee rocks, katana is good but DM rocks for PvP. Think about katana's lethal damage, highly resisted agaist, compare to DM's negative damage, not so much.
Dark melee: Highest DPS when chained correctly (which is damn hard), can floor accuracy to the point where you're outperfoming eluded SR scrappers (ToF has 20% acc debuff and can be triple stacked with 1 recharge), has fear as a status effect, and is an almost totally unresisted damage type.
I'm sorry, but that katana scrapper was an idiot. He has parry going for him, but ToF is BETTER. His damage output and type are worse, and he can't use things like Air Superiority without wasting redraw time. DM rules.
thanx i'm glad u all see it my way and with every post i read it just makes me think of how much of an idiot the katana was and this isn't to dis respect ne katana scraps out there either
how about BS/RGN people are telling me i wudnt stand a chance agenst a BS my age but yet agen i dnt understand since negative energy is not as commen dmg type and wow i had no idea the DM accuracy deBuff was that great
Having teamed with you yesterday have to agree you were kickin some villain [censored], regen is definatly the way to go for a PvP scrapper my lvl16 kat/SR toon just couldnt cut it literally, even though we were ripping them apart at one point.hehe
Yeah but wait till your SR gets his full range of armors and decked out with SO's. Still agree regen FTW though

Except for the lack of build up in pvp DM is a powerhouse..shadow maul is so strong that it aint funny...and not really hard to chain either since touch of fear is your friend...katana is just faster tho so allowes you to move around more...

katana is a very late bloomer..till lvl 26 pvp is pretty hard but not impossible..once you got golden dragonfly and soaring dragon slotted up you'll love it..
Well i will keep you posted on how this PvP build turns out had great fun even if 1 on 1 with a elec/elec brute i got my [censored] wooped good style.
Must say was holding my own in the 5 on 1 stalker fights though (sneaky gits!!) mainly due to the speed of Katana attacks and build up, i havent made my mind up with SR yet but as you said its early days.
both SR and katana are late bloomers yeah, defbased sets in PvP aint that grand until they are kitted out with SOs. Katana is in no way horrible in PvP, and neither is DM. Personally I got a DM/SR which I'm mainly building for PvP (so that I dont need too big a chain to floor the chance of enemy hitting me). As said, katana has the advantage of being fast, which makes him more mobile. Mobile targets have the advantage in PvP. DM on the other hand has the disadvantage of shadow maul leaving you rooted for a while (which means in the meantime you cant use insps, and you're gutted when you miss) and lack of a "proper" buildup.
That said, DM is still a powerhouse in PvP, I made the DM/SR in the RV event, and it was just total ownage. In zonal PvP DM can be very powerful cause you got mobs to fire souldrain on. In arena you are a tad bit less powerful because you prolly wont have enough foes around you to use souldrain on. Of course, with powerful I mean pure damage, you still are powerful thanks to ToF and acc debuffs from your punches. Best bet with DM is taking out MMs... theyre so funny when they think all those henchies are out there to hurt you while in the meantime you just use em to fire souldrain and dish out the pain
"god, how many devs did hami have to sleep with to get ED?"
Total Cat @Stagefright
dm owns right now but imagine if it did hav a build up or focus chi equivalent then u cud kiss any compition (katana, spines,BS) gd bye
what exactly has happened to rgn since it aparantly got nerved and SR was buffed would u say that SR and rgn are on even terms and u are no longer a scranker if ur a rgn?? omg this is terrible now i hav to make a */sr scrap lol

Imo SR is a bit better now...they rock in both pvp/pve now and not just a bit..still regen doesn't require to many powers (my katana/rgn does play with only fast healing/quick recover/reconstruction/dull pain/instant healing)...with SR you need a lot more imo..make sure you get stamina even bein a regen..the extra slots are good...and in pve 3 slotted fast healing/health/intergration (for pvp try to get swift+hurdle) gives you a very nice regen rate..if you want to kill quick and having some fast cooldown go SR...if you wanna kill everything with having like no cooldown and a relaxing time go regen...SR and regen are both very good sets and i7 made them pretty equal..you can't go wrong with either of em
btw souldrain in team pve is the best thing you can have

look im a lvl 18 dm/rgn scrap and i must admit i had pvp in mind as my sole intention with new protector and ive been in bloodey bay the last week basically(not being cocky) smashin every1 that cums in my way dosent matter what arc except for a couple lvl 40+ toons with there SO advantage but thats besides the point , i wnt to no how sum katana/rgn who gets floored beside me by the same brute i am currently beating to death has the nerve to tell me dm is [censored] at taking an enemie down fast and is with out a doubt not as gd as katana i would like to know whether this is true because i am poorly slotted and he was lvl 19 and he still got floored b4 me haha as u may hav noticed im extremely competetive i apologise
