Question about random recipe roll

My character has 20 merits and is level 40. There is a recipe I want that caps at level 30. (It is currently not on AH) -- Its the Accurate to-hit debuff chance for negative energy damage.

My question is, can I do the 30-34 pool and still get it if the slider is set to level 40? Or do I have to set my slider down to level 30?

The slider only affects the level of a chosen recipe, it does not affect the level of a random roll.

Ok my next question is to be sure it does fall into this pool correct? 30-34? ParagonWiki doesn't have it listed as dropping anywhere which is odd.

The 30-34 pool will probably give you the worst chance of getting it... you might get some of the really juicy stuff that starts at 30, but it's the lowest chance of getting a specific recipe.

35-39 will give you a slightly better chance of getting it.

I roll in 30-34 so I can get a slim chance at some of the stuff that stops and starts at 30. I'm usually not hoping for anything in particular when I do that.

35-39 will give him zero chance of getting a recipe that caps at 30. Im assuming you mean 25-29
