New defense set: Hi-Tech Armor

Kevlar Body Armor: This highly-advanced material absorbs and disperses physical damage, increasing your max HP and defense and resistance to Smashing and Lethal damage. This power is always on and costs no endurance.

Nano-Meds: Your armor carries a tank of nanites that can be injected directly into your bloodstream to heal any wounds received in battle, restoring lost HP. The aftereffects of the nanites' reconstruction also leaves you more resistant to Toxic damage.

Power Shield: When you toggle on this device, your body is surrounded by an energy field that deflects energy attacks, increasing your defense to Energy and Negative Energy attacks. This power also grants some resistance to defense debuffs and some Elusivity versus Energy and Negative energy attacks in PvP.

Delta Wave Scrambler: When this device is activated, your mind is obscured to outside effects, increasing your resistance to Psionic damage, while simultaneously improving brain functions and the communication between your brain and body, making you more resistant to Hold, Immobilize, Stun, Sleep, Fear, and Confuse effects.

Smoke Grenade: Your armor is equipped with numerous smoke grenades that can be launched at your enemies, reducing their perception and chance to hit. With their vision blocked by the smoke, some enemies may attack their allies by mistake.

Enviroshield: When this power is toggled on you are surrounded by a field that forcibly regulates the local environment temperature to be as close to your body temperature as possible, increasing your resistance to Fire and Cold damage.

Tactical Goggles: This advanced set of goggles automatically highlights and scans hostile targets, increasing your accuracy and perception.

Cloaking Device: When you activate this cloaking device you become much harder to detect. Even if discovered, you will still be hard to see and have a bonus to defense.

Chameleon Suit: By using an experimental portable cold fusion power core, you can greatly increase the power to your Cloaking Device for a short time. While the power core is active, you will be practically invisible. Even an enemy that is aware of your presence will find it very difficult to land a hit on you because of a very large bonus to defense. This power core will also provide some power to your other armor systems, increasing your recovery. However, the power core can only be active for a few minutes before an emergency shutdown will take effect, draining you of endurance and leaving you unable to recover endurance for a short time while your primary power systems reboot.

Someone's been looking at the 'Gears' icons on Paragonwiki.

Or... *gasp* PIGG-diving.

Either way, it does make one wonder if that particular set will ever get used for anything... It's been sitting there for quite some time. It looks like a hero-port of Ninjitsu in a way, or is it just me?

Are these the same Gear Icons that match the invention salvage that was leaked a week or so ago?

First, I would like to see something like the OP suggested.

And just tossing in my 2 inf. on these type of sets and this suggestion probably has been given before and I can’t find it atm.

If we ever got something like the advanced tech armors and weapons like in a battle suit, I was hoping something from the branching system would used to help customize the AT works like the VEATs. The branches could allow for more of a tank-ish/melee style or something with a lot more range/stealthy abilities or just something different that I am not thinking about to keep it balanced.
You would take "powers" that enhanced the abilities of the suit, like a reinforced lining for the armor for increase resistance or energy shield for increased defense, a cloak for stealth, and so forth. I tried to think of a long list of powers, but just don’t know the numbers well enough to make one that is consistent in the game.
And to add a twist to the AT, since this is a suit based powerset, then you would be locked out of all the other pools, but with alternatives. For example, instead of stamina, you would get “secondary battery pack”, instead of fly, you could get rocket pack, and so forth. Yeah, this makes a long list of alternative powers for powers we already have and probably not worth the work, but I guess it would definitely be a unique type of AT, especially if we could customize the look of the suit as we add these powers.

Looks pretty good to me. Only problem I have with it is it's very definitely Technology oriented. Most powersets tend to be not focused so heavily towards a single origin (Mastermind pets being about the only exceptions, I think?) so players have the freedom to pick whichever origin they like and still have their concept make sense.

And what's this about icons? *goes to look*

Edit: Ooh, shiny pictures. Also, I just noticed this set has some five toggle powers. Would be hell on the blue bars. And which power would have the taunt aura for tanks/brutes, or would they lose Smoke Grenade for a damage aura?

How about a primary?

The only problem I have with this is that choosing this set would have to force you to choose armor for your toon. Would it work like the */shield powerset, as something that toggles on and off, or would you have to swap costumes back and forth from armor to civvies? Seems like kind of a pita.

And I want to see this set at some point, for Scrappers and Stalkers. It's the Tech-equivalent of Ninjitsu, and would work great for a spy characters (along with the new Martial Arts in I16 ).

The set is tech-themed, but without knowing what the powers themselves (would) look like, I can't say how restricting that is. Would you say Ninjitsu is restricting? It's slanted towards Natural/Magic. And even so, this set would be no worse than, say, Devices.

However, I WOULD like to see these leaked invention salvage whatevers.

I really wish I could remember the name of the salvage. You could see them at WW/BM but I don't think they were actually dropping from mobs.

They had like cybernetic names and what not. Sorry I'm not of more use.

That's Praetorian salvage. Presumably available in Going Rogue.

And as far as I know, they were reusing old salvage icons.

What? How about a hint about where I can find these at the wiki.

EDIT: Weird. Considering that shields came out I'm kind of surprised that there would be a def set in the works, as that is one of the types that is most represented anyway.

Blast: 10
Control: 7
Buff: 13
Defense: 12
Melee: 15
Summon: 5
Assault: 7
Support: 6

It sounds like a res version of ninjitsu.

Or maybe they just made the icons suggest res and this is ninjitsu proliferated to more melee ATs?

The Gears set isn't "new" or "in the works," it's a set that icon art was made for that players found in the pigg files, but was never implemented.
