Can someone help with mathematical calculation?

For some reason my brain isn't working and I cannot figure out the formula to figure this out. Let me use two examples:

1) A power is up for a 2 minute duration but then has a 4 minute downtime. (In other words, the power lasts for 2 mins but has a 6 min recharge) -- The uptime is 25% of the time with a 75% downtime. How do I do this calculation?

2) A power is up for 3 mins duration but then has a 5.3 minute downtime. (In other words power lasts for 3 mins but has a 8.3 min cooldown) How is this calculated?

[/ QUOTE ]Why do you say it's 25% uptime? If it's up 2 minutes out of every 6 (disregarding activation time), that's 33.33...% uptime

If you're ignoring activation time, uptime should be Duration / Recharge, and downtime should be (Recharge - Duration) / Recharge, or alternatively, 1 - Uptime. 2min duration, 6min recharge would be 33.33...% uptime and 66.66...% downtime.

Yeah you are right, I did so many calculations today that my head was spinning and something simple threw me off. It is 33%
