Every monday and friday they take down the servers for maintenance, generally from 9 to 11 AM Eastern. Occasionally they do it on other days as well.

It's Friday morning. Standard time for patches is Monday and Friday morning, with occasional ones during the rest of the week.
Server Status page sometimes takes a little while to catch up to the actual status of the servers.

what the heck? i have turned off all my fire wall stuff...i was just playing last night, and this morning i cant play :S is the server down or something? server status page shows as the server is up any help would be hot

Actually, they rarely (if ever, barring emergency patching) do it on Friday, and they tend to avoid Mondays too.
Tuesday is the normal patch day (insofar there IS a normal patch day).
