Softcapping the Widow
[ QUOTE ]
whats the global rech needed for ML to be perma on a night widow, how bout a fortunata?
[/ QUOTE ]My widow *doesn't* have perma mindlink and I just use elude for a travel power...

I'd add that there are some mobs out there that can still hit you hard and often even if you have soft-capped defenses, due to high +To Hit and/or +Accuracy (Malta Gunslingers and Rularuu Watchers come to mind) and some non-positional attacks (usually found in psi attacks).

I find Malta Gunslingers to be rather easy to be honest. I haven't faced any Rularuu on my Night Widow so I can't speak on them.

Here is the link to the other thread you started which asks the same question and was answered already.

No worries, I figured something had to be up because most people don't start a thread on something and then ask the same question again.

And perma-ML Widows have around 70% or more resist to psi.

80% when stacked, but 50% otherwise.

while we are talking about widows, is pyschic scream worth taking? Ive seen alot of mixed reviews about it.

Just since nobody answered this, I'll post my thoughts.
The psi attacks for widows are pretty crappy. They do less damage, have longer animation times, and longer recharges with higher end costs than the other powers you have available. If you need another AoE, then by all means, but if you have a choice between one of the psis and another power, the other power is almost always better.
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

I didn't even notice that this question had been asked.
Anyways, I think Psychic Scream is definitely worth the selection. I have my slotted with 5 Positron's Blast on my Night Widow and my Fortunata. The -rech that it causes in combination with its fast recharge for an area of effect cone makes it an attractive power.
Many people complain about psi damage being resisted more commonly and that effects the damage, but I don't ever notice that when I use the power. Having almost +50% damage on my two ladies, Psychic Scream does some excellent damage except against robots where pretty much all psi powers are useless.

Thanks for the response guys. I took it, just to fill my attack chain. So far it is good. Ive noticed when Psi is resisted, it is heavily resisted. But most of the time, it is a great power for my chain. I usually start a mob with a build up- eviscerate-spin- scream-darts
I was doing an ITF and I glanced at my defenses.. I was at about 180% against all, and I was still getting hit every so often. Darn that 5% chance

Plus we have those pesky defense debuff attackers, like some CoT's and the like. So the extra defense isn't a total waste - it's just wasted on some attackers.
