Account Storage and Mail

I would like to see account storage like in Guild Wars or at the very least be able to instantly e-mail loot to toons on the same account. I feel this would go a long way to make crafting much less tedious for those who enjoy crafting.

<insert snide comment about e-mail and spammers here>

I've been having a blast these passed 5 years (on and off), keep up the good work!

Guild Wars storage is much smaller than what we can carry in every sense except salvage. However Salvage in that game isn't as valuable in that game as it is here.

Guild Wars Xunlai Vault holds 20 generic slots for the account for each paid expansion in the game, 250 of each crafting material, and 1 million in currency.

So applying this to CoH we'd have 40 generic slots to store enhancements, inspirations, recipes because there are only 2 (CoH and CoV) expansions to this game. We'd only be able to store 1 million Inf. but we'd be able to store 250 of each of the 108 pieces of IO Salvage.

Sorry but I don't see this ever happening.

/signed to being able to email stuff to other characters on your account. I love the idea.

Something like that would be nice, but it's a different feature than what Guild Wars has.

I don't know anything about Guild Wars(played for a month when it first came out), so I just picked something I like from the suggestion. Kinda like the line item veto, but just the opposite.

I saw. That's why I clarified my opinion. I'm not against sending stuff to other characters on the same account, just not how GW does it.

Ain't. Gonna. Happen.

Loot/influence mail system is suggested at least four times a week, and profoundly shot down just as often. I expect someone to show up with a cutpaste explanation of why not within the next five posts.

Actually I think you mean "heckled in fear" instead of "profoundly shot down". The issue isn't going to go away just because some people are frightened about what will happen to the market.

As the people in the market section keep telling everyone else: The market will adapt.

Maybe we can have a compromise. For example the mail is limited to once per week, 5 items max at a time. If you have some rares that are not useful for this toon, you can send them to another toon without taking the trouble of selling and buying through the market. The limited mail system will suffice for this purpose.

I'd just charge a transaction fee worth 10% of value of vendoring the item as "postage". If the item can't be sold to a vendor (like IOs), then a percentage of the sale value during a respec.

This provides a cost to make sure that people are not using it for everything, it provides an Inf-sink, and it allows people to move things around their characters without needing a second account or 3rd party.

There is no need to put time limits in place.
