Custom Boom Boxes??

I have been knocking this idea around for a while and my limited search-fu abilities could not find anything. I am far from tech savvy and have no knowledge whether what I would like to see would even be possible, but here it goes:

Is there any way possible that subscribers could some day have song slots for their boom boxes instead on generic techno noise?

I imaginge this as a joint venture, say between Paragon Studios and I-tunes for example. A CoX subscriber would pay "x" dollars to exchange their techno elevator music for possibly 10 music slots. Once the slots are available there would be a link to a CoX I-tunes menu where there is a catalog of songs (likely PG 13 rated for content) that can be downloaded as your boom box "playlist". We would likely have to pay I-tune a dollar a song for the downloads.

While in game the song from your boom box could only be heard for something like a 15' radius from your boom box. Customization is such a hallmark of this game that I feel having a "theme" song or set list for our characters would really add to the experience, not to mention making the "stand around and wait for the guy leveling/crafting" dance parties a little more entertaining.

Am I alone in this?? As I stated above I am lacking any smarts when it comes to what the servers, game client, whatever I should be talking about, can actually do and not do. I will greatly appreciate a patient explanation as to why I am nuts and this could never happen. Thanks!

Splasher will change the music played by the boomboxes for you personally. As for letting other people hear your choices, it's a bad idea. Musical taste is so varied that the added expense and headache of establishing "approved" songs wouldn't be worth it.

Unless every subscriber had every song downloaded locally, this would probably be too bandwidth-intensive for slow connections. I suppose there could always be an option to let people opt out of hearing them, though.

Far more simple would probably be letting you set it up so the boombox can play any mp3 you have stored locally, but only you can hear it. It'd have a lot less issues that way.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
