Stalkers should have a wider un-hidden stealth

This sounds strange, but I believe it to be true.

A Stalker using Hide should have a wider stealth radius while not hidden. This would mean Stalkers can Assassin Strike a group that is NEAR to another group without fear of additional aggro, since the other group doesn't perceive them, yet.

This wouldn't be a terribly LARGE change, but it would make Stalkers the best AT at body-pulls.

you shouldn't be running ahead of the team or to the baddy that is that close to another group. and if you make a /ninjitsu you get plenty of extra stealth/placate options. smoke flash and blinding powder.

Picture the scene, as it stands right now:

A longbow warehouse, random longbow standing around guarding or whatever it is that they do when they're standing there. Jill, the Longbow Flamethrower, is talking to Mchelle, the strangely bald Longbow Nullifier, just a few feet from their next "guard" group....

"Hey Jill. Half an hour 'til lunch."
"Uh huh. I hear we just got in some fresh Longbow Lemonade."
"Do they have to brand everything?"
"I know - hey, what's that sword doing sticking out of Jim's chest?" (Jim being 20 feet away, having just been ASd by a Stalker, who's now visible.)
"Oh, he's such a kidder. Bet he'll lay there on the ground. Slacker - see, what'd I tell you?"
"Who's that guy with the bloody sword?"
"Probably his relief. Don't know why Steve's hitting him. So, see any good movies lately?"

Seriously, aggro in this game, especially dealing with small groups (solo/small team sized spawns) is nonsensical. Sure, sometimes the other group a few feet away will aggro. More often than not, they'll just stand there. Aggroing another group on my Stalkers is rarely a worry - a patrol, sure. But I'm also rarely wanting to pull anyone.

That said, there are two things to keep in mind if you *do* want to -
1. Some sets have range. A Focus or Impale will do wonders.
2. If you don't have such a power, you still have your origin power if proximity to another group is a worry. Yes, it unhides you, I know - personally, I build my stalkers to be able to scrap, since I have no guarantee of clean getaways.
3. You can already shed aggro with placate. Some sets have additional tools, as well. And if you're on a team - use what the team has to offer.

I guess I just don't personally see a need. *shrug*

It's really odd. The stealth component on stealth powers in defensive powersets never suppresses. Cloak of Darkness and Energy Cloak, for instance, are always active, always protecting you from the perception of nearby enemies even when you're fighting a spawn right then and there. Hide, supposedly the game's best form of stealth, however, does suppress its stealth component.

What this means is that when I play my Energy/Energy Brute and team with a stalker, the Stalker is MORE visible than me for the entirety of the fight following his Assassin's Strike. It doesn't matter if I blow the world up with Energy Transfer, the supposedly stealthy Stalker will always be more visible.

To me, that is silly, and is the chief reason I'd like to see the stealth component in Hide NOT suppress when attacking. Enemies still know where you are when they're aggroed, because once they aggro, they no longer use perception at all, so this does nothing to make the Stalker any more overpowered. All it does is help him NOT be overshadowed by other people's non-suppressing stealth powers.

[/ QUOTE ]Superior Invisibility is actually better than Hide.
