Spankinator's little guide to Thugs/Traps!
um.......
I wouldn't waste so many slots on recharge redux when you can get hasten+superspeed for stealth while setting traps and the extra slots you saved could be used for endredux even though you don't need it. Also, I don't throw trops at enemies since they do not like that very much (aggro=bad for MMs we get 2x the damage of the minions). Just put the trops around the Pets feet so they don't get their squishie butts pwn'ed by melee enemies. And get aid other, because Mocha Latte (arsonist) dies very often. And lay down acid mortar first, then put beacon near it, then put trops in the range of the beacon, then move your thugs there, and have them target a single enemy. Acid Mortar will get the crap beat out of it (not before it recharges & don't waste heals on it). Then your thugs are completely safe. The thing that cost the most end is summoning and enhancing.-Azucar the All-Knowing Now you have plenty of slots left for heal in Triage and you can choose more powers. I normally can play on relentless (unless team is horrible).
I wonder when I became long-winded.

Well from a previos post I made someone suggested I make a Thug/Trap guide....since there is none.


I want to start off that this is a guide in the making. My original T/T is lvl 21...I remade him into the ChessKing! I had a thought of how cool it would be to have a bad guy in the checker pattern....and Checker man sounded horrible
First off I want to tell why I picked traps.....it was just for flavor.
Please comment! Wether it is favorable or bad...it will help us all if we all post our opinions.
Im not going to put any numbers on because I feel that those numbers are EVERYWHERE! Also Im a idiot and all the number crunching gives me a headache.
With that out of the way....here we go!!
THUGS
1. We all know the Thug set....high damage and squishy because of that.
2. On skipping the pistols....I skipped the firse one just so I could fit the rest into my build. I LOVE the pistols. Halfway decent damage....usefull in helping put down a runner. Just plain fun. Also combined with traps I dont have a problem with endurance.
3. I can honestly say that there isn't one power from the thug set I'm pasin except the first pistol attack.
4. Slotting.....well I'm old school on slotting.....the Summon abilities i am slotting 3 Damage, 3 Accuracy. Why? Because it fits my style...I want my chesspieces to absoultly hit and do more damage! Seems pretty basic to me...I have thought of droppin one acc since the Enforcers buff....but in the case where I am fightin a AOE [censored] I gotta realise that my boyos are going down fast....so I want the hit to count.
5. I didn't want to waste slots on Gang-War(ducks tomatoes) I put in two so I could have three recharge reduction. Even with the three Rech I feel that the GW is situational....and I don't plan to take haste. If I have spare slots later I might slot 2-3 damage.
6. Pistols I am slotting just 2-3 depending if I have room....2 acc.
7. That brings my opinions and explaination to a close to Thugs.
TRAPS
1 Web Grenade! I love WG just helps keepin the baddies at bay and it is awesome for the friggin LB Flamethrowers
Slotting....just the one acc is fine with me....comes back fast enough and hits pretty consistant for me. Maybe put two? Ill have to see.
2. Caltrops! LOVE caltrops! Put them at your feet or throw them on a group of guys and run like hell!! Great fear to make em run out...I love this power.
Slotting...I like this power up alot! so I put two slots for a total of three recharge reductions
3. Triage Beacon! I like this power also....slow healin but the aoe is nice and the fact that I usually play with 2-3 MM's....Thats alot of healin. Downside is the recharge...so I also put two slots for a total of three recharge. Later on I will use three more slots for heals.
4.ACID MORTAR!!!!! If you pass this up I will come top your house when you sleep and place cold slices of boloney in your underwear!! This power is soooooooooo good I dare say that at this point it makes the set for me. 3 slotted right now for recharge will be six slotted later. More than likley 3 debuff in it. This little tank takes aggro, damages, causes mobs to run, debuffs.....man this power is great!
5. Force field generator! Another great power!! Decent protection.....cast and leave. It follows better than the pets sometimes lol. AND it isn't a toggle....great power.
Slotting.....three slot for defense...thats it.
6. Poision Gas Trap....I like this power also. Decent hold And I always place it next to my mortar(Ill explain later)
Slotting....three recharge.
Unfortunatly thats as far as I have gotten. I do plan to get all the powers in both sets(minus the first pistol). In my opinion this has been the eaisest set to build and slot.
MY build is a little different because I will not pick a trav power till 22 and 24 respective. Why?? Cause of the great mayhem missions!! I have the Raptor pack and the 0-G. These....with limited use....wil last me LONG beyond 22....at lvl 21 I still have 1.2 hours on my Raptor and 2 hours on my 0-g. Thats awesome!! Great job devs! With the mayhem rewards I am not forced to get a trav at 6-14.
I will not be getting fitness......just don't have end problems.
I am torn between getting leadership and medicine. I like medicine for the obvious benifit...but i hop around alot and hate that friggin interruptible heal!! DRIVES ME NUTS!
Leadership however....three end Red and I'm good on end. Turn it on and forget till I get hit in the melon by some lost.
Why fly?? Because the jet boots droped for me so I am pickin fly. SJ I Like ....SS I like...but I hear alot of people talkin about the need for vert movement later on so it makes sense to fly....and did I say I got the boots!! ChessKing! INITIATE CHECKMATE FLIGHT ARMOR MARK II....well you get the picture. Aslo haste might throw off my end management. Gonna take hover also and three slot for flight.
Patron powers...Im not going there....dont know what to pick....only thing that seems likley to CK is Scorpion....the Mace looks like a scepter.....Kingly lookin thingy...I like it.
On the other Trap powers...after readin all the other posts....they all seem awesoem...seeker drones....trip mine....good stuff....gonna getem all.
Also opinion wise....I MIGHT get stealth to set up the trip mine and PGT.....maybe.
Well about my playstyle...
I set my guys up...throw trops....lay PGT....lay mortar.....throw a rock at a bad guy....then run like a girl around a corner and wait....baddies start droppin....I clean up with pistol attacks...and laugh...like this...
MWA HA HA HA H AHA HHAAAA....hit f10......CHECKMATE FOOLS!
