I agree, but I do keep the Request line open usually. It just makes more sense to RP in local. It does add to the game. To ShatterStorm, if it does bother you, /ignore probably is the best avenue.

I feel somewhat similar to you, I strongly dislike shorthand and generally try to avoid grouping with people that use it strongly.
Not ALWAYS and in my ooc chat im guilty of LOL'ing or AFK'ing... but I personally dislike it in character.
That's just me though, to each their own.
