again I say...depends on what your trying to accomplish with the piece. as it is a headshot...I would actually say a background is not really needed...or at the very least keep it extremely simple so as not to take away from the portrait. just my opinion though....and since people want to apparently beat me up...well...grain of salt as always ~

in regards to critique...ermm...not much to say. its a fine piece as is...the question is whether you are trying to accomplish something else with it. as it stands now in pencils...I would say its time to ink them color ~
