  1. I think the single worst thing about StJ is that spinning strike doesnt take PBAoE sets. But yes, spinning strike actually works exactly the same as thunder strike in elec melee. This, unfortunately, makes strike a rather lackluster AoE.

You can actually tell by their power icon. PBAoE attacks have a complete and smooth ring around them but a TAoE has a broken up ring. Kind of suprised by how many people, myself included, dont notice that.
  2. +4s will give you a base tohit of 38% in order to get to 95% (without an +tohit) you will need 2.5 acc that is generally what i try and shoot for.

In mids you can go in and set the option to display you base tohit as 38 at all times:

    1. options
    2. configuration
    3. exemping and base values
    4. Base values
    5. Base ToHit (by default this is 75) set this to any number want but 38 is the base tohit on +4s.

I like to mess around with these settings to see just how amazing +tohit is compared to extra acc.
  3. You broke the law of five...with purple sets.
  4. Yeah, you are forgetting Weave and maneuvers. Those two powers are....useful.

Sounds to me like someone needs to work on their IOs :P

There are also 2.5%, 1.25%, and 3.13% set bonuses. As well as the 1.88% that is attached to 3.75% melee, but i try not to use that very often.

Despite what the icons are telling you, you're likely not triple stacking rage. That requires 210% +rech buffs and 100% in the power to even happen for a couple seconds.
  6. It works in AoEs, not sure where you would have heard it doesnt.

Rapid DoT patchs (rains and burn etc) it does only work on one target tho
  7. Yep, not odd at all. Infact, almost all of my toons have done it.

    This

However, i tend to not notice reactive that often. And who knows how hard it would be to make it customizable.

    Stacking Rage

Maths have shown that, when soloing or without buffs, stacking rage does increase one's damage over all. This is most true against something like an AV or GM where you are fighting without stopping for a long period of time.

Personally, i tend click it right before the crash most of the time.

That was much funnier than it should have been XD
  12. It depends on the budget really. I would say s/l def and +rech (getting DP perma is awesome) if you dont have a lot of cash.

I dont recomend shooting for too much +HP, any that you get is vastly overshadowed by DP and (if you get them) the accolades.
  13. While it is true that getting a combo lvl 2 is still good. If i remember correctly a combo lvl less that three will actually result in less (or possibly equal) dmg to claw's spin attack. Which, being a PBAoE is more likely to hit its max amount of targets with less set up.

The problem with TAoE melee attacks is that they rarely, if ever, hit all 10 of their possible targets (even in an AE mission setting) unless you position yourself correctly, which is a waste of time.
Of course, its possible that SJ might have some pretty big changes between beta when we saw it and when it goes live.

Dont get me wrong though, i love spinning strike. I find it fun having to line up correctly to hit as many targets as i can. And i love SJ, i plan to make an SJ/regen and /fire as soon as it goes live. But its still not better than SS.

  14. People dont seem to understand how spinning strike (is that what its called?) works.

It's actually pretty crappy. It'ss like thnunder strike, both of which can be summed up as "Super cones" which are better than cones (kind of) but not as good at a PBAoE. Both are medicore at best, and lets not forget that you will need to build up a combo level of 3 to get that nice dmg. So SJ wont come anywhere never SS/.

SJ has really good STdps though, its AoE is just lacking. Of course, it looks WAY cool and it really really fun XD
  15. I also think merging the AT forums is a horrible horrible HORRIBLE idea.

    So yeah

    *leaves thread*

    Brutes? PVE/PVP

Anything with DP and enough +rech can do it everynow and then. They wont get that in PvP because of DR tho i would think.

In PvP is all about dmg and having moderate survivablity (or staying out of range).

And def is almost completely useless. People are likely running with higher tohit than 50% because of build ups, tactics, kismet, etc. Then they have crazy hi acc, so even IF you had some 45% def and they had 50% tohit they would likely still hit you AT LEAST 10% of the time rather than 5%

    Brutes? PVE/PVP

    1. 3212

    2. Yes

    3. Nope

    4. Attacking stuff and being attacked
  19. like...2 hp/sec and it doesnt give you any good attacks. It's for end problem more than regen.

Soul would actually help your survivabilty more AND give you dmg.

Im not even going to get into the fact that regen isnt even HOW regen survives
  20. Dont get nrg mastery, its....crappy.I recommend going red and getting soul tho. PPPs are just awesome.

  22. Didnt know i was bragging.
I just wanted to get some actual solid numbers for how much the resent change affected speed.
Sure hope it didnt come off as "IM SO AWESOME I GOT SOMEONE TO 50 IN 3 HOURS!!!" because thats not what i intended. I sure know i didnt think there was anything impressive about it at all anyways.

I know that they can datamine you at any time, and MARTy was designed to catch "too much, too fast" but even if it didn't in this case, might not these kind of posts raise Dev awareness just enough to prompt them to kick MARTy up a notch?

I'm not saying that it will but its kinda like staring down a cop. We attract their interest at our own peril.
I dont really know if we have to worry about that, the time is already 1/3 slower than before. So, that kind of proves they slowed us down.

Back before i20 i believe it took me only 2:49 to get a someone to 50.
Not only was my build at the time WAY worse but my map was on its old, much less effective, set up.
I also had load times 20 in 30 out. So if i had had load times like that it would have added almost 40 minutes to my time now.

Also, MARTy was changed to not affect these farms already.
  24. On my SS/fire/mu when he farms its his 3rd most dmging attack over time, taking AoE into account. So it beats out burn and electric fences.

In content they still kick ***, as they tend to put out roughly 10-15 dps on the low end. I find that they really shine when soloing AVs

As Nihilii said tho, in faster paced action they are less useful.
